Life is too Short

photo of a distinguished older gentleman

Wisdom lost through the ages, common sense is no longer common.

Love someone who is honest.

Honest with you, with others, and with themselves. You cannot love someone you do not trust.

Find someone who willingly shares responsibility. You will be a team in every single sense. Find someone you cherish togetherness with.

And someone who understands the importance of alone time.

Someone who values your opinion. Someone with a willingness to learn. A person with an open mind.

Find someone who makes it easy to feel grateful for everything.

Wit is important.

Life is too short not to love someone who loves to laugh.

Make sure they are somebody who lets you cry, too. Despair will come.

Find someone that you want to be there with you through those times. Do not settle for second best. This sort of love is out there.

Believe it!

It’s A Matter Of Perspective

Written By: Gary Wonning

Because we are individuals, we each live a different reality, based on our life experiences, education, and perspective. Strange as it may seem, two people sitting next to each other will perceive the exact same event entirely differently. Because of this, it should make sense that we each have an inner world knowledge and perspective specific to only us. Because of this, no one can have more authority over what is right for you than you.

We often have the perception that the most important answers to life’s questions come from outside ourselves. This is an erroneous assumption, because of our personal perspective, experience, and desires, only we know the best possible path to pursue.

Life doesn’t always go as we plan, in fact, to be more accurate, it very seldom goes as planned.

As the old saying states, “Man Plans, God Laughs.

Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemmings

Here is another excerpt from David Barton’s book “Jefferson Lies”. It explains the political jockeying that implicated Thomas Jefferson in the scandal.

In 1998 the journal Science released the results of a DNA investigation into whether Jefferson had fathered any children with  his slave Sally Hemings, specifically her first child, Thomas, or her fifth child, Eston.  In conjunction with its announcement, Pulitzer Prize– winning historian Professor Joseph Ellis wrote an accompanying article in the journal Nature announcing that the question was now settled – that DNA testing had conclusively proved that Thomas Jefferson had indeed fathered a Hemings child, thus scientifically affirming a two-centuries-old rumor.  That 1998 announcement was actually relevant to events occurring at the time, for it came at the commencement of President Bill Clinton’s impeachment proceedings for lying under oath to a grand jury about his sexual activities with a young intern inside the Oval Office. News reports immediately pounced on the fortuitous DNA announcement, arguing that if a man as great as Thomas Jefferson had engaged in sexual trysts, then President Clinton should not face inquiries about his sexual misbehavior. After all, such conduct had not diminished the stature of Jefferson, they argued, so it should not be allowed to weaken Clinton’s. Professor Ellis agreed, candidly admitting, “President William Jefferson Clinton also has a vested interest in this [DNA] revelation.”  (Shortly before his bombshell announcement about Jefferson, Ellis had added his signature as a cosigner of a New York Times ad opposing the impeachment of Clinton.  Henry Gee, a staff writer for Nature who also wrote a piece as part of the initial revelation, similarly acknowledged that the DNA report provided much-needed cover for President Clinton: The parallels between the story of Jefferson’s sexual indiscretions and the travails of the current President are close. Thomas Jefferson came close to impeachment – but the scandal did not affect his popularity and he won the 1804 Presidential election by a landslide. And if President William Jefferson Clinton has cause to curse the invention of DNA fingerprinting, the latest report shows that it has a long reach indeed – back to the birth of the United States.

However, only eight weeks after the initial blockbuster DNA story was issued, it was pulled and rewritten, quietly and without fanfare, with the scientific researcher who had conducted the DNA test acknowledging that the test actually had not proven that Jefferson fathered any children with Hemings.  It turned out that the results had been dramatically overstated: there were twenty-six Jefferson males living in the area, of whom ten might have been the father of a Hemings child, and Thomas was only one possibility. But the admission of the misportrayed DNA testing results did not make the same splash in the national headlines, for it aided no agenda. Doing justice to Jefferson’s reputation was not deemed in and of itself to be a worthy national consideration, so the retraction story was generally buried or ignored. Consider the damage done by this false and inflammatory reporting. Ask any citizen today whether it has been scientifically proven that Jefferson fathered illegitimate children with Hemings, and they will likely answer with a resounding “Yes!”

Later evidence would show it was probably Jefferson’s brother who fathered the children.

Wisdom lost through the ages

There is an extreme shortage of common sense in today’s world, When looking back in history, I soon discovered this has always been a problem, Benjamin Franklin once said, ”Of all the senses, common sense seems to be the one that is used the least.”

As simple as it may seem, many seem to be totally oblivious to it. Most if not all of the problems the world faces today could be solved if people would just sit back and think about what would seem to be the most obvious and simple solution to any issue. Often times people tend to over complicate the issues when an easy and simple solution would be obvious.

Available in both paperback and Ebook Format.

Goodnight Prayers

A father put his 3-year-old daughter to bed, told her a story and listened to her prayers — which she ended by saying: “God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, God bless Grandma and goodbye Grandpa.” The father asked, “Why did you say goodbye Grandpa?” The little girl said, “I don’t know Daddy, it just seemed like the thing to do.”

The next day grandpa died.

The father thought it was a strange coincidence, but a few months later the father put the girl to bed and listened to her prayers, which ended like this: “God bless Mommy, God Bless Daddy and goodbye Grandma.”

The next day the grandmother died. Oh my gosh, thought the father, this kid is in contact with the other side! He made sure he listened to her prayers every night.

Sure enough, several weeks later when the girl was going to bed the dad heard her say: “God bless Mommy and goodbye Daddy.”

He practically went into shock. He couldn’t sleep all night and got up at the crack of dawn to go to his office. He was nervous as a cat all day, had lunch sent in and watched the clock. He figured if he could get by until midnight he would be okay. He felt safe in the office, so instead of going home at the end of the day he stayed there, drinking coffee, looking at his watch, and jumping at every sound. Finally midnight arrived, he breathed a sigh of relief and went home.

When he got home his wife said, “I’ve never seen you work so late, what’s the matter?” He said, “I don’t want to talk about it — I’ve just spent the worst day of my life.”

“You think you had a bad day?” she replied. “You’ll never believe what happened to me: This morning my golf pro dropped dead in the middle of my lesson!”

From one life to another

Is there life after death? Do we really have encounters with beings from other dimensions and planets? Is there proof?

For a Brighter Future, Let Go of the Past

Shop here for all your INSPIRATIONAL gifts.

LET GO OF THE PAST

As we enter a new era brought on by the completion of the Mayan Calendar, it becomes even more important to focus on what we want and not on what we are now experiencing.

Current world events and the obvious direction most people are heading makes it imperative we chart our own course and ignore the direction the media and the politicians seem to be pointing us toward.

The common misconceptions in today’s world will only lead to failure and personal hardship. Many people have fallen away from the good common sense exemplified by our elders, the laws of nature that must be adhered to if one is to lead a happy and successful life.

It is time to purge all negative thinking from your reality, to think negativity will only bring on more negativity. In today’s world, we each need to chart our own course regardless of what the popular opinion may be.

Whether you’re thinking and talking about a tragic event or even a minor irritation, you’re working against yourself.  It’s very important to keep our focus on what we want instead of trying to avoid what we don’t want. There is a Law of Dominant Thought, which states that our current dominant thoughts control the direction we take in life.

Thinking about what we don’t want only gives that thought more power and brings it back into our reality.

We don’t attract wealth when we contemplate being broke.  We don’t get healthy by contemplating how sick we are. . . and how bad we feel.  Even if you talk about the event while mentioning a desire to change it, you’re still reinforcing the
negative event.

End of an Era

When you do have a painful experience, whether it’s an illness, the death of a loved one or even losing your job, the wound is real and you’ll find yourself talking about the incident often.  In fact, many people will ask you about it.  Thus, talking about it is only natural, and needs to be addressed.

Your mission is to put the event behind you as quickly as possible.  In other words, stop thinking and talking about the past event as soon as you can.  No one but you can determine what length of time is needed.  It depends on your unique
situation.  This isn’t about denial.  It’s about moving your life forward in a positive direction.

Today, and in the future, notice when you find yourself thinking and talking about negative conditions or negative experiences of your past,  unless, you want to reinforce your pain and suffering and create more of it in the days to come, this is the time to let go of it and immediately begin thinking about what you want.

Now’s the time to let go of the past, so you can tell a new, happier story in the future.

Will America Recover

A narrative about what life in The United States was in our golden era, and how it became what it is, and offering solutions to enable us to once again travel the path to freedom and self-reliance.

Redirecting Fear

Your prime source of INSPIRATIONAL gifts.

F.E.A.R., False Evidence Appearing Real.

Everyone at one time or another, experiences fear, the kind of fear that is immobilizing and often prevents us from performing daily tasks. Many times we don’t even realize we are afraid, we just become extremely cautious while trying to deal with whatever is causing the drama.

Photography Prints

Fear can be hard to recognize and as a result, we often avoid  the best possible solution which is to go forward, confront it , walk through it, move on and resume our life.

As hard to believe as it may seem, most fear is only a figment of our imagination. Most times, what we fear never comes to fruition. Our mind is notorious in regard to playing tricks on us and will magnify anything
we let it dwell on.

An idle mind is the devil’s playhouse, most of our fears surface when we are idle and have nothing to do. The mind is always at work and if we give it nothing to do, it will find something to think about.

It is at such times we need to refocus and put our mind to a more positive use. It is in this time we are most susceptible to creating a reality that we don’t want to come to fruition. We are constantly creating our future by the thoughts we nurture. When we allow negative thoughts to control our mind, we are creating a reality not conducive to our best interests.

Many become engulfed in this kind of thinking and continuously think thoughts that keep putting them back in the same patterns that continuously create drama and hardship in their life. The only way out of this dilemma is to change our thinking habits.

Recognizing this is a great tool for changing our life and directing us to a better place. Once one realizes what is happening, all that needs to be done is to redirect our thoughts and begin visualizing a positive outcome.

It may seem difficult at first or even silly, however, this is the first step to creating a better future.Continuous practice and a belief it
will work, over time will lead to the life you want and desire.
