A Man’s Home is His Castle.

TAMPA —

Thomas Graves, a military veteran, knows times are tough. So
when he met another veteran with no place to live, he wanted to help.

“I
just thought, “Well, gee, I have an air-conditioned house and an empty
bedroom, and I thought it would be a good idea to say, ‘Why don’t you
just stay here,’ ” Graves said.

The invitation was for few months.

A
year later, the now unwanted guest was still there. When Graves asked
him to leave, he said he was shocked by the man’s response.

“I
really thought if I asked him to leave he would just leave,” Graves
said. “I think he said something like, ‘You’ll have to have me carried
out of here.’ ”

It took six uncomfortable weeks and a court order to kick the man out of Graves home.

Stories
like Graves’ are being repeated across Tampa Bay, police and court
officials say, as a growing number of people – perhaps because of the
sluggish economy – are allowing people to stay in their homes.

They’re finding it’s not easy to get their guests to leave.

Whether
you’re dealing with friends down on their luck or adult children who
won’t leave the nest, the law, at least in the short run, is not on your
side if you’re the homeowner.

Those who call police find that if a
guest can demonstrate a home is the “primary residence” – and that may
just mean the mail comes there – he or she lives there in the eyes of
the law. It doesn’t matter whether there is a lease or rental payments.

The
guest doesn’t have to stay long to claim a right to a home, either,
said Larry McKinnon, spokesman for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s
Office.

“Once you allow somebody to stay overnight, they put
their toothbrush on the sink, put clothes in the closet, they pretty
much become a resident of that location where they’re living,” McKinnon
said.

So what can you do to take back your home?

If the
guest won’t leave when asked, you can file an “unlawful detainer” at the
local courthouse. This puts the situation in front of a judge, who can
issue an order for the guest to leave.

Then law enforcement will escort the guest off the property.

Tampa
attorney John McMillan said he’s never seen a case in which the judge
didn’t side with the homeowner. But be prepared to wait.

“It doesn’t always happen quickly,” McMillan said.

A check of Hillsborough County court records shows how pervasive the problem is.

Every year since 2005, the number of unlawful detainers filed has gone up.

In
2006, when the economy and housing market were strong, 16 unlawful
detainers were filed in the county. That compares to 75 in 2009, 91 in
2010, and 64 through eight months of 2011.

The court files tell stories similar to Graves’.

They
also tell of homeowners who invited in love interests then change their
minds and of parents, struggling to get adult children to move out.

McKinnon said deputies have heard it all.

And he advises against taking matters into your own hands.

Some people have grown so frustrated they change the locks and move the unwanted guest’s belongings to the curb.

They think, McKinnon said, “This is my house, and I can do this.”

Some have been shocked when deputies require them to change the locks back and let the person back in.

“Law enforcement typically does not have authority to remove people out of a house without a court order,” McKinnon said.

So he offers one last bit of advice.

“Be very careful who you allow to stay in your house.”

Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

                                                                    Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

Henry Gates Staged This Whole Thing

This is old news , but I think it is still relevant to our current political situation and how our current administration works..

Let me get this straight, we have a distinguished Harvard history professor,a man who is a close friend of Obama who just happens to be making  a documentary film about racial discrimination and he accidentally locks himself out of his house, and while trying to gain entry, a neighbor sees two people with back packs trying to break into his house, the neighbor  doesn’t have a cell phone,so they get some one to call police.

Gates starts screaming racism, an argument ensures whereby the policeman arrest Gates (Obama’s friend) for disorderly conduct . In the process the arresting officer ,after being insulted, and demeaned, is charged by Gates with racial profiling.
And you expect me to believe this was a coincidence? What are the odds of this happening? The people in Vegas would blow their computers trying to figure out the odds.

You couldn’t write a script this good.
How convenient.
This is just too coincidental, the way the world works today, people will do anything and try to fool anyone to get their 15 minutes of fame. I’m sure that this will be a whole segment in his documentary, twisted around the way to best suits Professor Gates.

In my humble uneducated opinion I think this was all staged by Gates, what a perfect way to gain publicity and support for his new film, while at the same time promoting Obama’s agenda.

Barack Hussein Obama's Life Story

Barack Obama’s Inspiring Life Story

August 4, 2009 – 23:26 ET

Today is a very special day: It’s President Obama’s birthday.

He turned 48 — only 16 more “czars” to appoint before his age equals total”czars.”

Here’s the One Thing: It’s been an amazing life for the 44th president. I, like the rest of America, am inspired by his story, so I’d like to share it with you.

The story of Barack Obama starts with his parents, Ann Dunham and Barack Obama, Sr. It began like any other classic American love story, when these two lovebirds met while taking a

Russian language class in1960 at the height of the Cold War. By 1961 they were married and later that year Barack Obama, Jr. was born.

President Obama so movingly told the story during a speech commemorating the anniversary of the civil rights march in Selma:

BARACK OBAMA: “But something stirred across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama… because some folks were willing to march across a bridge… so they got together and Barack Obama, Jr., was born….”

Wait, didn’t that march happen in 1965? Obama was born in 1961. I’m going to cut him some slack — it’s his birthday.

When little Barack, Jr., was 3-years-old (still one year shy of  the actual Selma march) his parents divorced. Dad moved to Kenya and mom married an Indonesian man. From ages six to 10, Barack Obama, Jr.,attended school in Jakarta.

At age 10, now living with his grandparents and back in Hawaii, young Barack yearned for a father figure. He eventually gravitated towards a family friend named Frank — also known as Frank Marshall Davis, would become his childhood mentor.

Frank just happened to be a communist. The good news is, mom already spoke Russian. No one knows for sure what mentor and pupil talked about, probably baseball or something else teenage boys enjoy. But definitely not communist propaganda.

Now 19, armed with a new world view and an eagerness to learn, Obama attended Columbia University. His mentor, Frank, would have been proud of how he made use of his time there:

BARACK OBAMA: Political discussions, the kind at Occidental had once seemed so intense and purposeful, came to take on the flavor of the socialist conference I sometimes attended at Cooper Union

And when he wasn’t attending socialist conferences, Obama stayed on campus and chose his friends carefully:

BARACK OBAMA: To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets.

Once his “Marxist professor” friends completed his education, it  was on to the real world. In his mid-20s, Obama moved to Chicago and became a community organizer.

While he was organizing things there, many friends and friendships budded. He met like-minded people like William Ayers. Ayers was a member of the Weather Underground and participated in the bombing of the Pentagon in 1972 and other bombings of government buildings.

WILLIAM AYERS, FORMER WEATHER UNDERGROUND LEADER: I don’t regret anything I did to oppose the war. Anything I did to oppose the war. Don’t regret.

ALAN COLMES, HOST OF ‘THE ALAN COLMES SHOW’: You wouldn’t regret setting bomb at a police station or setting a bomb at the Pentagon or the capital?

AYERS: You know I don’t look back on those things and regret them…

Nice, kind people kept popping up in Obama’s adult life, like slumlord Tony Rezko, who helped him buy a nice house. Obama shared many dinners with former University of Chicago professor and terrorist sympathizer Rashid Khalidi. Obama thanked Khalidi for opening his eyes to the problems of the Palestinians and praised him in a sendoff speech as Khalidi headed for Columbia University.

About the same time, Obama also sought a relationship with God and he eventually settled down in a quaint Chicago Church, where his world view continued to sprou

REV. JEREMIAH WRIGHT: The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in he Bible for killing innocent people.

Life was turning out grand for Obama: A communist family mentor, super radical friends, a wonderful church. It couldn’t get any better, could it? But it did, when he met his soul mate, Michelle

MICHELLE OBAMA: For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.

Spiritually, physically and ideologically the two were a perfect match. They married and the faithful Michelle would stand by her man on his political journey from the Illinois Senate in 1996 all the way to the Oval Office.

Despite the meteoric success, Obama hasn’t forgotten his roots. He’s still honoring his communist childhood mentor with each policy he drafts and he’s still networking and organizing and meeting and new friends. Friends like:

• Green “czar” Van Jones, the self avowed communist

• Science “czar” John Holdren, who is pro putting sterilants in the drinking water, forced abortions and government confiscation of babies

• Regulatory “czar” Cass Sunstein, a champion for getting animals legal rights

• Energy “czar” Carol Browner

I could go on forever about your crazy, wacky friends, Mr. President, but that would take time away from you on your birthday.

I want to wish you a happy birthday, but that wouldn’t be sufficient. So, Mr. President, we — the collective — wish you a very, happy birthday.

Obama Forever?

Obama Forever

Obama Forever, is the the change you voted for?

A resolution, H.J. Res. 5, was introduced into committee on January 6, 2009 which seeks to repeal the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution, thus removing term limits for U.S. presidents.

Yes, you read it right. Democrat Representative Jose Serrano of New York wishes to allow unlimited terms for President Obama.

The presidential term limit was ratified as an amendment to the Constitution in 1951. However, our founding fathers adhered to the principle of a two-term limit on their own accord. The only president that served more than two terms was Democrat President Franklin Roosevelt, who served four non-consecutive terms.

Shall we go the way of the Venezuelan dictatorship? Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez and President Obama both expressed opposition to the recent ousting of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, calling it a coup, rather than a legal overthrow of a president who was violating Honduran law and attempting to change their constitution to permit him to stay in office indefinitely. The action had gone through the proper legal process, was voted on by the Honduran Supreme Court and Congress, and had the support of the majority of the people.

According to an AP report,Obama stated, “We believe that the coup was not legal and that President Zelaya remains the democratically elected president there. It would be a terrible precedent if we start moving backwards into the realm which we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition rather than democratic elections,” he added. “The region has made enormous progress over the last 20 years in establishing democratic traditions. … We don’t want to go back to a dark past.”

What’she afraid of? Why would Obama side with a tyrant rather than the people of Honduras? Could this “precedent” be a threat to his future plans?

The AP article also reports that Obama said the United States will “stand on the side of democracy” and work with other nations and international groups to resolve the matter peacefully. What does this mean – “work with other nations and international groups”? Does this mean he intends to intervene in the results of the Honduran political process in ousting their tyrant?

I am outraged by our president’s support for a power-hungry tyrant over the will of the people.

Most thinking people are dismayed that President Obama was reelected for a second term of office. Many are worried that America as we know it will be no longer, falling into socialism and become a welfare state. Many fear worse that we will fall to communism or Marxism.

The situation doesn’t look good; from all indications that is exactly where we are headed. But be not dismayed.

Why are we giving terrorists Miranda Rights?

This was taken from Rush Limbaugh

The more I see of this gal, the more I like her, she has the fortitude to tell it like it is, regardless of what some people might think of her, the conservatives need more people like her.

RUSH:
We talked yesterday, just as the program was ending we got the news,
Stephen Hayes, at the Weekly Standard on his blog mentioned that
terrorist detainees in Afghanistan are being read their Miranda
rights.  This signals a huge shift once again that fighting terrorism
is a criminal enterprise.  It brings back the old days of the way the
Clinton administration went about it.  But when you start Mirandizing
noncitizens, especially foreign enemy combatants on the battlefield,
when you start Mirandizing them, you are granting them constitutional
rights when they are not citizens.  Now, if you can do that, if you can
grant a constitutional right and Mirandize a foreign terrorist, enemy
combatant, then I guess you can automatically grant citizenship to
people who are not citizens, couldn’t you?

Andy McCarthy has
written much about this at National Review Online, and he actually goes
back and says one of the people that can be blamed for this is Senator
McCain.  I don’t have his story right in front of me, but Senator
McCain supported — back when McCain was on his anti-torture bandwagon
and was trying to curry favor with people on the left to get their
votes by agreeing that the US tortured people. One of the ways that
McCain sought to prevent torture and make it illegal, which it always
has been anyway, was to make it possible for what the Obama
administration is doing.  And they did this on the quiet.  It took a
member of Congress finding this out.  Sarah Palin warned of this in her
acceptance speech at St. Paul, the Republican convention, last
September.

PALIN:
Al-Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America,
and he’s worried that someone won’t read ’em their rights.

RUSH:  It’s exactly right.  Now, Obama, on March 22nd, this year, on 60 Minutes, said this.

OBAMA:
Now, do these folks deserve Miranda rights?  Do they deserve to be
treated like a shoplifter down the block?  Of course not.

RUSH:
Well, there you have it, there’s Barack Obama, March 22nd, “No, they
don’t deserve Miranda rights.”  They’re getting ’em.  They are being
Mirandized in Afghanistan today.  So once again it’s not what Obama
says; it’s how he says it that appeals to people.  Yesterday this all
came up at the afternoon press briefing with the most brilliant and
articulate press secretary we’ve ever had, according to several in the
government-run media.  Major Garrett of Fox News said, “Do you know if
it’s true or untrue that Miranda rights are read to terrorists in
Afghanistan?”

GIBBS:  I have no reason to — to disbelieve a
member of Congress, but I don’t know any of the circumstances that are
involved around it.

REPORTER:  Would it come as a surprise to the White House that that’s what would be happening?

GIBBS:  It’s not a surprise to me.

RUSH:
Not a surprise.  Yet your boss said on March 22nd that they don’t
deserve Miranda rights.  And Gibbs says, yes, he’s not surprised to him
that it’s happening, but that he didn’t know it.  So they aren’t
denying it.  And of course it requires us to go back and find Obama
saying that they don’t deserve Miranda rights on 60 Minutes in March
because government-controlled media is not going to do it.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:
Now, these Miranda rights for terrorists: When can we expect
congressional hearings on this policy?  Nobody knew it was happening.
The president’s press secretary didn’t know it was happening.  When
will there be congressional hearings? And I have another question.  If
we are going to Mirandize enemy combatants on the field of battle — we
are in a war in Afghanistan, folks.  We’re not there in a “police
action.”  We’re there in a war.  If we’re going to Mirandize
terrorists, the enemy combatants, does that mean they don’t have to say
anything until they get a lawyer, and if they can’t afford a lawyer,
are we going to appoint one for them?  I mean, isn’t that part of the
Miranda rights?  So where are the congressional hearings on this?

Reverend Wright, Obama's Spiritual advisor

Excerpt form the Rush Limbaugh show.

RUSH:
Reverend Wright is back.  Yes, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright is back.
The Hampton Roads Daily Press has a little blurb today.  “The Rev.
Jeremiah Wright says he does not feel any regrets over his severed
relationship with President Barack Obama. … Wright also said that he
had not spoken to his
former church member since Obama became president. … ‘Regret for
what… that the media went back five, seven, 10 years and spent $4,000
buying 20 years worth of sermons to hear what I’ve been preaching for
20 years?  Regret for preaching like I’ve been preaching for 50 years?
Absolutely none,’ Wright said. … Asked if he had spoken to the
President, Wright said: ‘Them Jews aren’t going to let him talk to me.
I told my baby daughter, that he’ll talk to me in five years when he’s
a lame duck, or in eight years when he’s out of office. …  They will
not let him to talk to somebody who calls a spade what it is. … I
said from the beginning: He’s a politician; I’m a pastor. He’s got to
do what politicians do.'”

So the Reverend Jeremiah Wright told
the Hampton Roads Daily Press that “them Jews” are not going to let
Obama talk to him, Reverend Wright.

Now, “them Jews” in Israel are a little upset today.  You know, Israel
is in the Middle East, and the Middle East has the — remember when
some malcontent Iraqi threw a shoe at President Bush?  The sole of a
shoe, showing the sole of a shoe is a primary insult in the Middle
East, in Arabic countries, in Islamic countries, and in fact, to
illustrate this, do you remember back in the first Gulf War during the
presidency of George H.W. Bush, do you remember how he kept calling
Saddam Hussein “Saddam”?  We kept saying, “What the hell?  He’s
president of the United States, doesn’t he know how to say Saddam?”
Saddam in Iraq is a shoe shiner or some such thing, it has to do with
the shoe.  It was an insult to say Saddam Hussein’s name that way.  The
shoe and the sole of the shoe is a big insult.  And there’s a picture,
the White House released a picture taken by the White House
photographer of Obama on the phone with Benjamin Netanyahu, who is the
prime minister of Israel, with his feet up on the Oval Office desk, the
focal point of the picture is Obama’s shoes, the sole of his shoes.
And “them Jews” in Israel think that this is a subtle insult from Obama
to Netanyahu and Israel.

I’m not going to sit here and say,
“Come on, ‘you Jews’ are being too insensitive about this.”  I think
this guy’s got a huge problem with Israel, I think he’s got a huge
problem with Judaism, and Reverend Wright, I mean this is the guy who
Obama listened to for 20 years — “them Jews.”  “Them Jews” won’t let
Obama speak to him, Reverend Wright.

Obama Celebrates U.S, Decline

I thought this was an excellent article on Obama’s apology tour.

Obama celebrates U.S. decline

Published: Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 1:00 a.m.
Last Modified: Friday, April 10, 2009 at 3:50 p.m.

WASHINGTON

In his major foreign policy address in Prague committing the United States to a world without nuclear weapons, President Obama took note of North Korea’s missile launch just hours earlier and then grandiloquently proclaimed:

“Rules must be binding. Violations must be punished. Words must mean something. The world must stand together to prevent the spread of these weapons. Now is the time for a strong international response.”

A more fatuous presidential call to arms is hard to conceive. What “strong international response” did Obama muster to North Korea’s brazen defiance of a Chapter 7 –“binding,” as it were — U.N. resolution prohibiting such a launch?

The obligatory emergency Security Council session produced nothing. No sanctions. No resolution. Not even a statement. China and Russia professed to find no violation whatsoever. They would not even permit a U.N. statement that dared express “concern,” let alone condemnation.

Having thus bravely rallied the international community and summoned the U.N. — a fiction and a farce, respectively — what was Obama’s further response? The very next day, his defense secretary announced drastic cuts in missile defense, including halting further deployment of Alaska-based interceptors designed precisely to shoot down North Korean ICBMs. Such is the “realism” Obama promised to restore to U.S. foreign policy.

He certainly has a vision. Rather than relying on America’s unique technological edge in missile defenses to provide a measure of nuclear safety, Obama will instead boldly deploy the force of example. How? By committing his country to disarmament gestures — such as, he promised his cheering acolytes in Prague, ratifying the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.

Really, now. How does U.S. ratification of that treaty — which America has, in any case, voluntarily abided by for 17 years — cause North Korea to cease and desist, and cause Iran to turn nukes into plowshares?

Obama’s other great enthusiasm is renewing disarmament talks with Russia. Good grief. Of all the useless sideshows. Cut each of our arsenals in half and both countries could still, in Churchill’s immortal phrase, “make the rubble bounce.”

There’s little harm in engaging in talks about redundant nukes because there is nothing of consequence at stake. But Obama seems not even to understand that these talks are a gift to the Russians for whom a return to anachronistic Reagan-era START talks is a return to the glory of U.S.-Soviet summitry.

I’m not against gift-giving in international relations. But it would be nice to see some reciprocity. Obama was in a giving mood throughout Europe. While Gordon Brown was trying to make his American DVDs work and the queen was rocking to her new iPod, the rest of Europe was enjoying a more fulsome Obama gift.

Our president came bearing a basketful of mea culpas. With varying degrees of directness or obliqueness, Obama indicted his own people for arrogance, for dismissiveness and derisiveness, for genocide, for torture, for Hiroshima, for Guantanamo and for insufficient respect for the Muslim world.

And what did he get for this obsessive denigration of his own country? He wanted more NATO combat troops in Afghanistan to match the surge of 17,000 Americans. He was rudely rebuffed.

He wanted more stimulus spending from Europe. He got nothing.

From Russia, he got no help on Iran. From China, he got the blocking of any action on North Korea.

And what did he get for Guantanamo? France, pop. 64 million, will take one prisoner. One! (Sadly, he’ll have to leave his swim buddy behind.) The Austrians said they would take none. As Interior Minister Maria Fekter explained with impeccable Germanic logic, if they’re not dangerous, why not just keep them in America?

When Austria is mocking you, you’re having a bad week. Yet who can blame Frau Fekter, considering the disdain Obama showed his own country while on foreign soil, acting the philosopher-king who hovers above the fray mediating between his renegade homeland and an otherwise warm and welcoming world?

After all, it was Obama, not some envious anti-American leader, who noted with satisfaction that a new financial order is being created today by 20 countries, rather than by “just Roosevelt and Churchill sitting in a room with a brandy.” And then added: “But that’s not the world we live in, and it shouldn’t be the world that we live in.”

It is passing strange for a world leader to celebrate his own country’s decline. A few more such overseas tours, and Obama will have a lot more decline to celebrate.
