The truth about what Thomas Jefferson believed

Written by Gary Wonning

The Declaration of Independence clearly states that we are endowed  by our creator with certain inalienable rights.

This sentence was entered into our Declaration of Independence for one reason. It was to state, in no uncertain terms where our rights as humans originate.

Our founders believed our rights come from God, not government or any individual on earth.  They made it perfectly clear, in this sentence and when they wrote that we have freedom of religion, they didn’t say that we had freedom from religion.

No where in the constitution does it state that we have a separation of church and state. It is true they were very specific that there would be no state sponsored religion, but that doesn’t mean we can’t practice our religion in the public square or that duly elected government officials can’t profess a believe in a Supreme Being.

Through our long history as a country most of our representatives have professed a belief in a higher power.

The separation of church and state  was designed to protect the churches from government interference.

The government cannot dictate what a church preaches or believes, however government employees do have a right to their own personal beliefs and the practice thereof, business owners also have the same right. Business owners can’t be discriminated on by government because of what they believe spiritually.

People always look for a higher power to believe in , if they don’t believe in God, they begin to believe in Government and make them their Gods.

This false belief in government , as we can see can only lead to disaster., evidenced by the behavior of many in our country today.

The founders were correct when they said that our rights come from God, not government, we need to learn that all over again.

Our elected representatives are our representatives, not our leaders, they may be world and government leaders, but they are our representatives, they represent what we want, big difference.

Gary has been a writer/photographer for over thirty years. Specializing in nature and landscape photography, while studying native cultures.

His travels have taken him to most of the United States, as well as Australia, Belize, Egypt and the Canary Islands.

He has studied the Mayan culture of Central America and the aborigines of

Australia. Photography has given him the opportunity to observe life in various parts of the world.

He has observed that many of the forgotten cultures had spiritual beliefs that were stronger than ours in modern times.

In technology, we have made advances far superior to those that came before us, but, we have lagged behind in gaining or maintaining our spiritual knowledge.

For us to advance as the human race, we need to combine the spiritual knowledge of those that came before us, not only that of the ancients but the knowledge of our direct ancestors as well, with the technical knowledge we have today for us to propel into the twenty-first century and beyond.

He has published several books about his adventures, and is available for book signings, and speaking engagements.
