The Twin Towers Of Good and Evil, Of Government and Of Men.

The truth about what Thomas Jefferson believed

Written by Gary Wonning

On September 11,2001 our world changed.

The day the towers fell.

The twin towers represented not only the financial world of the west but many other facets of our life as well.

The twin towers also represented our form of government, as is all things in life there is a duality to our American constitutional republic.

We have two distinct elements of our government, there is the physical government and the spiritual government, in a constitutional republic one cannot exist without the other.

We are a free society, our country was founded on a belief in  a supreme being.

Our whole government is patterned after a belief that our rights come from God, not government, the ten commandments and golden rule was used as a guide. Studying the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence illustrate this.

It cannot be denied, the same tenets of freedom are illustrated in all of the above documents, without a belief in a supreme being our documents of independence are useless, since we believe that our rights come from God, if there is no God, there is no one from whom to be given our rights.

In the United States and the United States alone, we have two leaders of government; the President and Congress, and God.

We don’t have a state religion, it isn’t allowed in our constitution, but we as a nation have a strong belief in a Supreme Being.

We have freedom of religion, not freedom from religion as many believe. We have the right to practice our faith in the public arena, in fact Thomas Jefferson insisted on it.  In the early days of our country, Sunday church services were held in the U.S. Capitol.

When the state capitol of Virginia was formed, Thomas Jefferson insisted that Sunday services be held in the Virginia State Capitol building.

Thomas Jefferson founded the University of Virginia and insisted that religion professors be on staff to teach the various religions practiced of the day.

There are many, many times throughout our history that a strong belief in God has snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and enabled this great country to continue to prosper and enjoy freedom.

Several times General Washington returned from battle with bullet holes in his uniform  jacket , but he was unharmed. Several times a wind would keep the enemy at bay in New York Harbor, and at Yorktown as well. He escaped several times leading thousands of troops under the cover of darkness while undetected by enemy troops. How do you move thousands of troops without being discovered by the enemy.

During the War of 1812, a sudden tornado in Washington D.C. kept our nation’s capitol from being burned to the ground.

The story goes on and on, through the civil war, and both world wars.

The two pillars also represent life on this planet, there are always a polarity or duality to life, good, evil, male, female, light, dark, physical government leader, spiritual government  leader.

In the case of America, our government leaders are actually representatives, they are supposed to represent us, the American people. We are a self governing people.

Our only leader is God, it is to him we pledge allegiance and loyalty.

You cannot have good without evil, they always balance out.

It is a law of the universe.

The Five Thousand Year LeapGary has been a writer/photographer for over thirty years. Specializing in nature and landscape photography, while studying native cultures.

His travels have taken him to most of the United States, as well as Australia, Belize, Egypt and the Canary Islands.

He has studied the Mayan culture of Central America and the aborigines of

Australia. Photography has given him the opportunity to observe life in various parts of the world.

He has observed that many of the forgotten cultures had spiritual beliefs that were stronger than ours in modern times.

In technology, we have made advances far superior to those that came before us, but, we have lagged behind in gaining or maintaining our spiritual knowledge.

For us to advance as the human race, we need to combine the spiritual knowledge of those that came before us, not only that of the ancients but the knowledge of our direct ancestors as well, with the technical knowledge we have today for us to propel into the twenty-first century and beyond.

He has published several books about his adventures.
