A journey into the unknown. Open new avenues in your spiritual journey

Written by Gary Wonning

Several years ago, after living in Sedona Arizona for several years, we realized it was time to move on to another location. Sedona is an area that is extremely beautiful and abounds in spiritual energy, one of the most sacred places on earth.

However, many people come here to live and after a few years decide that they have adsorbed as much of the local energy as they can for a while and it is time to move on and apply what they have learned while living there.

My wife and I had reached that point and decided it was time to go on to the next adventure.

I wanted to stay in the southwest, I liked the desert and my wife wanted to move to Florida. I never really liked Florida, the only time I had ever been there was in the summer, and summer isn’t the idea time to be in Florida.

We decided to look around the southwest, first in Phoenix which was entirely too hot, Las Vegas, which seemed like a town with only one type of entertainment, and finally San Diego.

The first trip to San Diego everything looked great, the weather was nice, I liked the mountains and it was close to the ocean.

It was at about this time I started getting messages from spirit that California would not be the best place  for us to move to , I continuously ignored the message, I really wanted to stay in the southwest and did not want to move to Florida.

Finally, our house sold, or at least we thought it sold.

We had an offer, but they wanted to take possession in less than three weeks, we hurriedly started making plans and packing, I gave notice to my employer that I was quitting in three weeks and would be moving.

Then we made plans to fly to San Diego and look for a home .

We were having a garage sale on Thursday and Friday and then flying to San Diego on Saturday.

As the garage sale was closing down on Friday, and our packing was done, with just two plates and glasses, and knives and forks for us to use, we prepared to move.

As I was closing the sale, our Realtor drove into the driveway with a horrible look on her face. The deal had fallen through.

I was fit enough to be boiled down for glue.

Still, ignoring the promptings from spirit, I was more determined than ever to complete my mission.

We flew to San Diego the next morning intent on finding our new home.

Things didn’t go so well this time. Events were just not adding up.

During lunch, on Mission Beach, someone gave us a bag of pot, right at our dining table, and I noticed that every time we boarded the trolley, people were smoking pot , not the environment I want to live in on a daily basis.

The property values were over the top, and the places we found were extremely small.

We finally found a small apartment that we could afford in Carlsbad, several miles from San Diego.

Arriving back in Sedona, life was extremely difficult for the next couple of months, having quit my job and all of our furniture was packed, we refused to unpack and settle back in to our life.

We finally decided to move to Florida instead, and did so a couple of months later.

It was a very trying experience and it took over a year to sell our house, we finally sold it on a land contract, which also turned out to be a disaster.

This would all have been avoided if I had just listened to spirit.

I still like the desert southwest, but our time had come and gone.

I’m doing my beast to now listen to what spirit tells me to do.

And Florida is beautiful also, and it’s where I need to be.

His travels have taken him to most of the United States, as well as Australia, Belize, Egypt and the Canary Islands.

He has studied the Mayan culture of Central America and the aborigines of

Australia. Photography has given him the opportunity to observe life in various parts of the world.

He has observed that many of the forgotten cultures had spiritual beliefs that were stronger than ours in modern times.

While we have advanced technically far superior to those that came before us, we have lagged behind in spiritual knowledge.

For us to advance as the human race, we need to combine the spiritual knowledge of those that came before us, not only that of the ancients but the knowledge of our direct ancestors as well, with the technical knowledge we have today for us to propel into the twenty-first century and beyond.

He has published several books about his adventures.
