Celebrating Christmas At the Thomas Edison Winter Home in Fort Myers Florida

The Edison’s were big on Christmas which they celebrated almost every year in Fort Myers Florida, many times with their closest friends, the Henry Ford family.

Being a workaholic, Thomas would often celebrate Christmas dinner with family and friends, they retire to his laboratory to work on one of his many inventions.

The Edisons purchased the property, all thirteen acres, for $2000. Unbeknownst to him, he over paid, and thus began the long tradition of Floridians scamming northerners.

As was the custom throughout the land, only the finest china and table settings were allowed when company came.

Henry Ford and Thomas Edison were such good friends that Henry Ford purchased the adjoining property so he could be near his good friend.

Thomas took his son, Charles fishing and Charles caught this one hundred fifteen pound Tarpon, Thomas only caught a small fish, so he displayed his fish on the opposite side of the house from where his son’s fish was displayed.

Growing up on a dairy farm in southeastern Indiana, Gary traveled very little until midlife, when the opportunity became available to him.

Grabbing his camera and a bag full of equipment, he began his vision quest traveling to most areas of the United States and several countries abroad.

Along the way he collected several thousand photographs that he wants to share with everyone.

Gary decided the best way to accomplish his goal was to publish photo documentaries on the various areas of the world he has visited.

What will follow will be several photography books, who knows how many will wind up in his collection.
