Red Bug Slough, Sarasota Florida

A 72-acre preserve purchased in 2001 and 2003 through the  Environmentally Sensitive Lands Protection Program.

The preserve has several miles of unpaved hiking trails, a playground, picnic shelter and a fishing dock.

Located just south of Proctor Road on Beneva, Red Bug Slough is just a short five-minute drive from I-75.

Gary has been a writer/photographer for over thirty years. Specializing in nature and landscape photography, as well as studying native cultures.
