Another Spiritual Revelation

a personal spiritual journey

Written By: Gary Wonning

I was just beginning to thaw out from the cold nights at Uluru and Wallara’s Ranch. The warm sun felt really good, I soon enjoyed my own version of the dream time. Slowly emerging from my well deserved nap, I could hear female voices beside me. I was lying on my stomach, peeking under my armpit to see what I could see. Lo and Behold, there were two naked girls lying next to me talking, WOW, I love Australia!

This brought about a dilemma, what do I do? I finally decided I couldn’t fake a nap all afternoon, so I gently sat up. It didn’t seem to bother the girls that I was there. I started a conversation with them, do you realize how hard it is to talk to naked women?
I’m sure glad I had sun glasses on. Another spiritual revelation for the boy from Indiana.

You Are In Control Of Your Life

You are in  control of your life

In these changing times, people need to realize each one of us is in control of our individual life. Over the past several decades many have turned control of their destiny over to either the government, big business or a union.

Many times this has seemed to make good economic sense. Much has been provided to us by working for a large company or the government and having all our economic needs satisfied with very little conscious thought on our part.

The downside is this has created a sense of entitlement where people begin to think they deserve everything in life just because they exist. People believe that work isn’t necessary and effort doesn’t need to be put forth to gain the fruits of our labor.

In most states, it is illegal to feed wild animals because by doing so the animal becomes dependent on humans and they forget how to fend for themselves. When the human involvement ends, the animal thus can starve to death. Many Americans have become like those wild animals, they have become so dependent on others for their survival that when the gravy trains ends they will no longer know how to make it on their own.

We now blame the government for all our problems, and rightfully so, the government has and always will fail us. We need to remember who voted for these people and who put them into office. We can only blame ourselves for the actions of congress and the president. Most often people are elected based on how much “free stuff” they are going to hand out once in office. The “stuff” isn’t free, someone is paying for it.

Native Americans Canoeing Down the River

Written by; Gary Wonning

While my canoe drifted on the river my mind began to drift aimlessly down the river of time, looking back I could see the same canoes that had begun the journey, the same people were still occupying them, but the time had shifted and we were no longer in the twentieth century.

I instantly envisioned a group of Indians navigating the Snake River in what is now the land of Idaho, as I watched, the canoe carrying Merle and his wife as well as my daughter Annette, now held Merle, Barb, and Annette was their daughter. I was also one of their children, being older I was in a separate canoe with another brother, Jim.

The tribe was moving south for the winter, the leaves were already starting to turn to their magnificent hues of red and gold and I began to notice a slight chill in the air. We were in unfamiliar waters now, we had never gone this far south before. As I rounded a sweeping bend in the river, I was the first became aware of the danger that lie ahead.

It came on us without warning, being in the lead we were the first to see and hear the giant waterfall that lie ahead, navigating near the river’s edge, Jim and I were able to reach out and grab a limb, thereby saving our lives, the rest were not so lucky, and many fell to their death.

As I watched, the canoe carrying the rest of our family plunged over the river’s edge, Barb and Annette survived, but Merle was killed instantly, striking his head on a rock and breaking his neck.

Silence Isn’t Always Golden

Silence Isn’t Always Golden

Once upon a time there was a Prince who, through no fault of his own was cast under a spell by an evil witch. The curse was that the Prince could speak only one word each year. However, he could save up the words so that if he did not speak for a whole year, then the following year he was allowed to speak two words. (This was before the time of letter writing or sign language.)

One day he met a beautiful princess (ruby lips, golden hair, sapphire eyes,) and fell madly in love. With the greatest difficulty, he decided to refrain from speaking for two whole years so that he could look at her and say “my darling”. But at the end of the two years, he wished to tell her that he loved her. Because of this, he waited three more years without speaking (bringing the total number of silent years to 5).

But at the end of these five years, he realized that he had to ask her to marry him. So he waited ANOTHER four years without speaking.

Finally, as the ninth year of silence ended, his joy knew no bounds.
Leading the lovely princess to the most secluded and romantic place in that beautiful royal garden the prince heaped a hundred red roses on her lap, knelt before her, and taking her hand in his, said huskily, “My darling, I love you! Will you marry me?”

And the princess tucked a strand of golden hair behind a dainty ear, opened her sapphire eyes in wonder, and parting her ruby lips, said:
“Pardon?”

A Letter From Shirley Maclaine

photo of the Egyptian Sphinx at sunset

a personal spiritual journey

Written By: Gary Wonning

Spring in the Midwest can be rather diverse, the weather is constantly changing, the month of May especially can be challenging. After a long winter a person’s thoughts naturally turn to warm weather, however, mother nature doesn’t always cooperate. We were having an unusually cold spring, with many cold blustery days even into May when the temperatures hung in the forties. Those conditions really don’t do much for the disposition.

It was on one such day when I arrived home from work and found in my mailbox a letter from Los Angeles, California.

I at first thought it to be junk mail and didn’t open it.  After dinner I noticed it’s return address read “Avenue Of The Stars” Hollywood, California Realizing this was no junk mail, I immediately tore open the letter.

My mind immediately raced back to a forgotten incident. About nine months previous I had read, “Dancing In The Light”, by Shirley MacLaine, in which Shirley described several past lives she had researched concerning people in her present life. At the time I had been involved in the same type of research, my life had taken several twists and turns, and in the process, I had been sorting out a lot of past life connections. Researching those lives, Shirley MacLaine was one of the people that I had known during the American Revolution.

I immediately forgot about the miserable weather.

I had written Ms. MacLaine concerning this, and also gave her a brief history of what I had been experiencing at this time. Several months had gone by and getting no answer from her, I realized she was an extremely busy person and couldn’t possibly answer all of her correspondence, I had forgotten about writing her.

Living in a “spiritual wilderness”, the letter couldn’t have come at a better time, not only was my body frozen from the cold weather, but my spirituality had become frozen as well. I needed an affirmation from someone confirming what I had been feeling was true, and that affirmation coming from a respected movie star made it even more credible. That letter is still framed and hanging above my desk as a reminder of a time when no one believed as I did, but my persistence and determination paid off until finally, I began to meet people of a like mind.

Choosing Our Destiny

Cathedral Rock in Sedona Arizona

Written By; Gary Wonning

I had contemplated visiting a psychic for some time, so when I found a psychic fair in Indianapolis, I decided to go. Not knowing what to expect, I went with an open mind thinking that I needed some feedback on all of the new truths I had been taught, and I also needed some expert advice.

I was totally amazed that these people could be so accurate about what was going on in my life when they didn’t even know my name.

I was told that I would be going through a great spiritual re-birth and that I would be involved in a great relationship with another woman in three to five years. It would be a great relationship, but we would struggle financially.

Inwardly, I realized that the woman would not be Barb. At that point, the psychic asked me, “Is there a boy named Stephen in your life”?

I said, “No, I have three daughters, Why do you ask”? Her reply came, I keep seeing a little boy on a tricycle playing around you”.

This was indeed puzzling, and to this day I have no idea what that was all about. I would learn over time, that many times it takes many years before everything we learn in a psychic reading to come about and many times, we have one question answered, only to have several more pop up.

photo of the book A New World if You Can Take it

A New World is Revolving

To my dismay, no one told me what to do, but I was shown what would probably happen, depending on which path I decided to take. I was told in no uncertain terms that no one could tell me what to do,t he decision was entirely mine, the psychics could only advise me on the probability of any outcome, based upon the decision I made. Many times, it boils down to what we need to do rather than what we want to do.

After we get the need to do’s out of the way, then we can do the want to do’s. While we are working on the need to do’s, we can begin to venture into the want to do arena.

I went away more confused than when I came, but I did come to the realization that we as human beings, do choose our own destiny. And if we do choose our own reality, then that choice has to extend back to the period of time before birth. We do choose the body we incarnate into, as well as the family we are born into. The decision perhaps has to be approved by a council, or the God Source, to make sure it is for the highest good of all concerned, but the final decision is ours.

Fixing Social Security

Written By: Gary Wonning

Social Security was designed during the depression by Franklin Roosevelt so no one would ever collect anything. The retirement age was set at 65 when the normal life expectancy was only 64, thus it was only created as another revenue source for the government. The money only collected 2 percent interest and the program still didn’t do too badly until the mid-sixties when Lyndon Johnson and congress decided to raid the fund and start paying the government’s bills with our retirement money.

Discover what a personal retirement package could do for you, just do the math. Find a compound interest site online and figure for yourself how much money should be there for each of us if it had been invested at a conservative rate and left there to multiply over the years.

I used a conservative figure of investing $20 a week from the time I was 20 years old until I was 65, with a conservative interest rate of 7 %, I would have had enough money in the account to pay me more than I now receive from social security, and the principle would never be touched! The principle would be there until I passed on, it could then go to my heirs.

I know I probably couldn‘t have invested $20 a week when I was 20, at that time twenty dollars was half of my paycheck. Adjustments could have been made later in life to make up for the difference.

As it was, when I retired in 1994 and for several years before that, the combined contributions made by myself and my employer totaled almost $200 a week. Just think what a portion of that would have done for me if it had been invested privately. I would have had a lot larger retirement income and there would have been enough money to pay for my health care on top of it.
