The Town Bakery

Our tour guide and hotel manager assured us they would find us a place to stay, our luggage would be fine in the hotel  lobby. Not having any other choice, everyone reluctantly left all their worldly goods in the lobby. Fully expecting to never see it again, we set out on a full day of sight seeing.


A trip to Egypt should never be completed without visiting this area. Much of the world’s ancient history is on display here. Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, and many ancient Egyptian temples and shrines are within driving distance. Also not to be missed is King Tut’s tomb. It isn’t a Club Med vacation, but everyone should experience this at least once in their lifetime.

Luxor, one of the oldest cities, not only in Egypt, but in the world provides a giant history lesson. Many of Egypt’s most famous landmarks lie within the town or with in a short driving distance of the metropolis.

The author has been a writer/photographer for over thirty years. Specializing in nature and landscape photography, as well as studying native cultures.

His travels have taken him to most of the United States, as well as Australia, Belize, Egypt and the Canary Islands.

He has studied the Mayan culture of Central America as well as the aborigines of Australia. Photography has given him the opportunity to observe life in various parts of the world.
