Everything you know is based on what has already happened in your life. And yet, your only influence right now is over things that have not yet happened. The things that have already happened have gotten you to where you are right now. What you need to be concerned with, however, is where to go from here.
As a society, we in America have some serious issues, most are discussing those issues and many are even coming to unfounded conclusions about how to solve them. Many blame the police and other authoritative figures for the problems of humanity.
While in some instances, the authorities may be at fault, the problem is much deeper than that.
We the people have elected our public servants. The first thing we need to realize; members of congress and our executive branch aren’t our leaders, they are our representatives.
We elected them to represent us in passing the laws we all abide by. The first step is to elect people that represent our beliefs and values instead of electing a rock star that looks good on tv.
Once elected we need to remember; serving in government isn’t meant to be a lifetime career. They should only serve a certain amount of time and then return to civilian life and live under the laws they have made. If and when they no longer represent our values, they should be removed from office and someone more representative of our values should replace them.
Running for public office isn’t a popularity contest and once there, they should be rated on performance, it’s not about them being our personal friend, most times they aren’t our personal friend, they all have an agenda, once that agenda no longer matches our agenda we need to find someone else to fill their position.
Working in the private sector, if we no longer fulfill a need of our employer, what happens?
We get replaced, the same should be true in government.
