If We Want To Change Our Nation

If we have a desire to change our nation, we must start at the bottom and not at the top.

We must begin electing officials, even at the local and state level who believe in America and have good core values. If we get good people in the local and state levels , it will filter up to the highest levels of government.

People keep saying the root of all our national problems is because of who we have in the white house and  congress.

While this may be partly true, we have to look at the reason these people occupy the high positions of power.

First off, the people elected to public office aren’t our leaders as so many assume. They are our representatives. They represent us in government, we are the leaders of our own lives, that is how our government is set up.

We are in charge of our own destiny, they only are supposed to represent our interests and desires.

The  way to remain in charge of our destiny is to elect representatives to our government that represent the American way of life. So many times, especially since 1960 when television came on the scene, Madison Avenue plays into the mix, we only elect people who look good, we elect pop stars instead of people who would do a good job of governing.

We elect people who promise to give us a free ride, telling us we deserve everything for  free without working for it. We need to begin electing people to public service based on their views toward limited government and self-rule, not about how much free stuff we can get. We need to elect people who believe in personal responsibility, not people who believe in turning us all into victims.

When we become victims, we become dependent on those who would promise to free us. The last thing in the world they want is to set us free, it’s all about control.

The only way to change our nation and government is to once again elect people who believe in following the constitution and limiting government.

Our rights come from God and we give rights to the government , the government doesn’t give us rights.

Only when we get back to the basics, will our country once again be the country it was meant to be.
