Nikita Kruschev Was Right

In 1960, Nikita Kruschev Premier of Russia  stood at the podium of the UN and pounded his shoe on the podium proclaiming that our grandchildren would grow up under communism. Although most people thought he was out of his mind, it concerned many of us but we thought it could never happen here.

The years went by and suddenly its 2016. As we look around and see the condition our country is in and the attitude most people now have, we suddenly see that maybe he was correct in his assessment.

Our sacred Constitution and Bill of Rights are being trashed daily. God had been kicked out of the public square and people no longer value the freedoms they enjoy.

Many people now want the government to take care of them from cradle to grave,  giving up all responsibility for their lives, they don’t realize they are replacing God with government. They seem to forget that a government big enough to give you everything you want or need is also big enough to take everything away, and they will.

From all indications, that is exactly where we are headed. Our freedoms have been slowly taken away. It happened so slowly that most people never even noticed until suddenly we wake up and wonder what happened.

How did this happen?

There are many reasons, the trend probably began soon after the founding of our country.

On a more recent level, in 1932, there were  many new congressmen and senators elected because of the turmoil of the Great Depression. Many had no idea or had even read the Constitution or Bill of Rights and began passing legislation contrary to our sacred documents.

In the mid-1940s, soon after world war two, the supreme court began making decisions based on the writings of Thomas Jefferson and others that were taken out of context. Thomas Jefferson whole heartedly believed in  the public display of religion and supported it throughout his life, he believed in freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

At that time, many began reading portions of his writings without bothering to read and comprehend what he believed or felt, as a result, many decisions were made contrary to what he intended.

Just like in ancient times, people began to fall away from the teachings of God, they began to make up their own rules.

People got lazy, and instead of wanting to determine their own destiny, it was easier for private industry of government to make those decisions for them.

What has government done for you?

After a couple of generations, many no longer even know how regulated and restricted their lives have become. To them, it seems like the government should run their lives, it seemingly makes life easier  when someone else makes all your decisions for you, then you have someone to blame when things don’t turn out like you thought they should.

It will never change until people decide once again to take control of their lives and make their own decisions and be willing to suffer the consequences of their actions.

If the populace is unwilling to do that, we will continue down the road to socialism and communism and Kruschev will have won the cold war.
