Is It Our Fault That We Are Being Overrun By Muslims?

Is the sudden influx of Muslims into the United States our Fault?  Just like any other group of people, there are good Muslims and bad Muslims.  But even if they are all good people, the large influx of any group at any one time will change the culture and dynamics of a country. If it isn’t limited, our country will no longer be the place of refuge that it has always been known for.  Our values will be replaced by those of another entirely different culture.

The question remains, is it our fault? Is it because of our foreign policy that many say has created this? Is it because of the war in Iraq or our other so-called aggressions?  Maybe our quest for oil was sinful, as many would claim.

In light of the above issues, I don’t see any of them as the cause for the current situation.

This issue has been going on for a long time, ever since there were Muslims and Christians.

At the time of Columbus, the Turks almost overran Europe. The principle reason Columbus came to America was because the Turks had closed the trade routes to China so the Europeans were looking for an alternate route to reach the Far East.

Our first war as a nation was against the Barbary pirates who were robbing our ships and demanding ransom. At one time, the ransom money we paid to the pirates amounted to one-quarter of our national expenditures. It was then Thomas Jefferson, our president at the time, put a stop to it.

You see a reference to it in the Marine’s song, “From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli.”

So in that sense it isn’t our fault.

In the present time, this current dilemma  has been building over the last forty years. We have seen a great moral and ethic decline in our nation, what we once believed in, many no longer believe. At one time, everyone I knew went to church, at least once a month. Now hardly anyone goes.

God has been kicked out of the schools, banned from the public square and cursed by the left  and Hollywood as well. Our country has a strong spiritual foundation which is being ignored. We no longer put God first, life has been cheapened and no longer valued. Many times a longer jail sentence is given for killing a deer than for killing a human.

We protect a small salamander while denying farmers the water they need to provide food to feed the hungry.

Our values have declined so much we no longer elect public servants who would serve in our best interest. Many who are elected commit crimes and misdemeanors that should land them in jail, and how are they punished? By being reelected to office.

People want to elect rock stars, not public servants. It’s all about looking good on tv and the last 30 second sound  bite on the evening news.

In this perspective, we are guilty. We have elected government officials that no longer have our best interests in mind. Many in the federal government have strong ties to our enemies overseas in the middle east.  They are more concerned about their financial portfolio than the welfare of the United States. They have sold out to our enemies for personal gain.

If you are one of the millions of Americans who have sold your soul for personal gain, voted for anyone in the Washington establishment political realm, or if you didn’t vote, then, yes it is your fault. If you haven’t promoted the values that were in place in the founding of the great land of ours, then yes, you are partly to blame.

Wisdom lost through the ages

There is an extreme shortage of common sense in today’s world, When looking back in history, I soon discovered this has always been a problem, Benjamin Franklin once said, ”Of all the senses, common sense seems to be the one that is used the least.” As obvious as it may seem, many seem to be totally oblivious to it. Most, if not all of the problems the world faces today could be solved if people would just sit back and think about what would seem to be the most obvious and simple solution to any issue. Often times people tend to overcomplicate the issues. I often think back to what my parents and grandparents believed and said, at the time I thought they were totally out of their mind and ignored it. I now wish I would have listened and followed their advice. It is now evident they were a lot smarter than we gave them credit for. Many times, in today’s world, the schools and universities can no longer be counted on to teach truth and values that will guide someone through life.
