Another Government Shutdown

Art Prints

The threat of another government shutdown looms over our heads.

Once again the administration is threatening to shut down the government because the president can’t have his way.

Once again he is attempting to shut down the government and cause needless inconveniences to his loyal subjects.

What is the shut down about this time?

The shutdown is being used as leverage because we have a few republican congressmen who still have a conscience and a spine and refuse to go along with funding Planned Parenthood, a private organization who takes aborted fetuses, chops them up like chickens and then sells them to the highest bidder.

How gross, cruel and inhuman is this? If this was being done to an animal, there would be an outrage.

Most democrat politicians support Planned Parenthood and their devious and unthinkable actions. Why? This organization was founded on the principle that through it the negro population could be eradicated.

The most obvious is they claim a woman has the right to choose, whether you believe that or not, no one has the right to choose to cut up little babies and sell their organs.

How far have we sunk as a nation when many people think something like this is acceptable?

These actions rank right up next to what ISIS does, and we condemn them?

If and when the government is shut down, you can bet measures will be put in place to inconvenience us, the American citizen the most.

National Parks will probably be closed, the threat will be made to cut off social security and other well-deserved entitlements.

You can bet that welfare checks will keep coming and aid to our enemies overseas will continue as well. Every attempt will be made to try to convince us how much we need government in our lives and how we can’t live without their help.

With the last shutdown came the closure of many National Parks, veterans were banned from visiting war memorials. Families were unable to visit a park along with many other inconveniences, all because we didn’t go along with some government officials crazy idea.

How cruel is it to deny a veteran access to a memorial to honor his buddies who died defending our country? These veterans are quietly passing on, and for many, this was the last opportunity for them to honor their fellow soldiers and airmen.

This nonsense needs to end. Do we really want congress to pass legislation that would fund a private company that destroys human fetuses and sells their parts for profit?

Do we really want a party in power that booed God three times at their convention, that persecutes people of faith every chance they get unless they are Muslim? A party that denies the existence of God, but then drools all over themselves when the Pope visits our country?

What has America become?

In the end, is it worth not going to a park for a few days so we as a nation can do the right thing?

The Evil Brothers

The Evil Brothers

There were two evil brothers who were rich and used their money to hide their ways from the public eye. They even attended the same church and looked to be perfect Christians.

Then, their pastor retired, and a new one was hired. Not only could he see right through the brothers’ deception, but he also spoke well and true, and the church started to swell in numbers. A fundraising campaign was started to build a new assembly.

All of the sudden, one of the brothers died. The surviving brother sought out the new pastor the day before the funeral and handed him a check for the amount needed to finish paying for the new building.

“I have only one condition,” he said. “At his funeral, you must say my brother was a saint.” The pastor gave his word and deposited the check.

The next day, at the funeral, the pastor did not hold back. “He was an evil man,” he said. “He cheated on his wife and abused his family.” He went on in this vein for a small time, and the surviving brother was clearly fuming in his seat.

“But,” the pastor concluded, “compared to his brother, he was a saint!

The Meaning of Life

Photography Prints

Every time a tragedy strikes and seemingly people are killed needlessly, people  ask why are innocent people killed in their prime of life?

It seems so unfair when good people die young and others who have led far less than a stellar life are allowed to live out their lives being a total pain in the neck to the rest of us.

Why do things like this happen? Where is God?

Many just resign themselves to thinking it is fate and question it no farther.  They spend a few days mourning and remembering and then go on with their lives.

There are many people who  want an answer beyond the standard answer, “It’s God’s Will.

I always wondered why it  was God’s Will that I should endure some hardship and the guy next to me had an easy go of it. It never made sense, for life to be fair shouldn’t we all have to endure the same hardships and enjoy equal luxuries?

Does God have a grudge against me?

Even the old saying, God never gives you more than you can handle just didn’t cut it.

I’ve been fortunate in life in that my issues have been a lot less than most, but I still wondered.

I finally asked God to provide me with answers, answers that would satisfy my  need for my truth.

The only solution I have ever discovered to justify it all  is the theory of each and every soul lives many lives in many different circumstances whereby the soul could grow and understand  its own existence.

That would provide, to me, a logical reason for all the seemingly inequities in life. That would be why some have a better and easier life than others.

Of course, there is the matter of people making bad choices and having to live with the consequences but that doesn’t explain why some people are born into less than favorable situations when they haven’t had a chance to make any decisions on the human plane.

Reincarnation, or the possibility that we each live in some sort of preexistence where we either do good deeds or not could explain a lot. If we live less than a stellar life we build up karma that needs to be satisfied at another time. This would explain why some people need to suffer the hardships they do. It is their way of paying back for something they would have been better off not doing at a previous time.

It provides a learning experience for each and every soul to advance up the karmic latter that reaches to the Celestial Kingdom.

At least, that is how I look at it.

Enlightenment

At this period of time in the history of man, there is probably more individual searching being done into the theories behind the origin of the human race, what happens after death, the possibility of life on other planets, and what our relationship is to these life forms, if they do exist. There are millions of people who are questioning the existence of God, who he really is, and what is my relationship with him? Is he someone who mysteriously floats around on a cloud watching and judging us from above like some bigger than life Santa Claus, or is he, like many of the esoteric sciences claim, a part of our inner Self, whom we have constant contact with, someone whom we and everything in the universe are connected and are thus one? Each of us in our own way is experiencing what God is, and thus we are each a part of God, thus we are God! This book is a brief account of my search for my own truth as I know it today, everything stated actually happened, according to my own perception. It has been an exciting search, at times very frustrating, very rewarding, and above all, very fulfilling. My main purpose in writing this book is to show that anyone, even a bashful unfamous country boy can have these awakenings, you don’t have to be rich or well-known to find your connection to Divine Source.

Available in both paperback and ebook format.

The Teachings of My Mother; When you Have the Name, You Get the Blame

Sell Art Online

I had the best parents anyone could wish for. Everyone who ever met them always said they were the nicest people they knew.

They were funny, laid back and unassuming, they took the hard life they had in stride and never complained. My mom finished school after the eighth grade,  there wasn’t a nearby school for her to attend high school and my dad finished school after his sophomore year and went to work. It was the depression and money was needed to buy food. He started driving a school bus when he was fourteen after grandpa went to Indianapolis to seek employment.

Despite their lack of education, they all displayed more common sense and knowledge than most Harvard graduates do today.

In spite of this they had, what I could call a dark side:).

Like most in their day, they were old school in their thinking and how they raised their kids. There was a code of conduct we had to follow and it wasn’t open for discussion. We were allowed to think on our own and make our own decisions, but if our decisions didn’t conform to their way of thinking, we were the one’s who needed to have an attitude adjustment.

There was no back talking, arguing, or negotiations. They would listen to our side of the story, but they had the final say as to what would take place.

They were masters at time-worn cliches and repeated them whenever they wanted to make a point. It would be said in such a way there would be no argument.

Another one of her favorite sayings would surface when I was questioning why it was important to always do the right thing and stay out of trouble.

I would always come up with the excuse that it was ok to do something wrong once as long as I didn’t get into the habit and keep doing it.

Her response would always be the same. “Once you get the name, you will get the blame.”

In other words once a person has a reputation of doing something wrong, they will automatically be blamed when the situation comes up again regardless of if they did the wrong or not.

wisdom

There is an extreme shortage of common sense in today’s world, When looking back in history, I soon discovered this has always been a problem, Benjamin Franklin once said, ”Of all the senses, common sense seems to be the one that is used the least.” As obvious as it may seem, many seem to be totally oblivious to it. Most, if not all of the problems the world faces today could be solved if people would just sit back and think about what would seem to be the most obvious and simple solution to any issue. Often times people tend to overcomplicate the issues. I often think back to what my parents and grandparents believed and said, at the time I thought they were totally out of their mind and ignored it. I now wish I would have listened and followed their advice. It is now evident they were a lot smarter than we gave them credit for. Many times, in today’s world, the schools and universities can no longer be counted on to teach truth and values that will guide someone through life.

Secrets of a Long Marriage

Secrets To A Long Marriage

With a couple celebrating their 50th anniversary at the church, the minister asked Brother Ralph to take a few minutes and share some insight into how he managed to live with the same woman all these years.

The husband shyly stood and turned to the audience: “Well, I treated her with respect, spent money on her, but mostly I took her traveling on special occasions.”

The minister inquired, “Trips to where?”

“Well,” the man says, “for our 25th anniversary, I took her to Beijing, China.”

An appreciative murmer went up in the congregation.

The minister then said, “What a terrific example you are to all husbands, Ralph. Please tell the brethren what you’re going to do for your wife on your 50th anniversary?”

“Big plans!” he said with a smile. “I’m headin’ back to Beijing to pick her up!”
