Charleston South Carolina

In the history of our country, Charleston has always  played an important part. By the late 1600s Charleston was the southernmost point of English settlement, in the heart of the deep south , it’s importance would be apparent for centuries.

Recognized as the best mannered city in the United States, Charleston brims with the cultural unique. It is the heart of southern hospitality, good food, fine weather, history and beautiful scenery.

In the early history of our country major battles were fought her during the American Revolution, and Civil War. The city was ravaged not only by war but by several hurricanes as well, each time bouncing back bigger and better than it was before.

As a result of war, many of the beautiful plantations in the area were destroyed and the owners suffered financial loss and ruin, many gave their lives and their fortunes for our great country.

Middleton Place

Middleton Place

One of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Robert Middleton, was a land owner just west of the city, his plantation survives today and is one of the most beautiful pieces of real estate in the area.

George Washington and his brother Lawrence enjoyed it’s social graces in the 1750s and frequented many of the landmarks of the time, some of which still stand today.

The first battle of the Civil War was fought at nearby Fort Sumter visible in the harbor, many watched  from the shore as cannon ball after cannon ball found their mark on either confederate or union soldiers.

Old Granny went to her doctor to see what could be  done about her constipation.

“It’s terrible,” she said, “I haven’t moved my bowels in a week.”

“I see. Have you done anything about it?” asked the doctor.

“Naturally,” she replied, “I sit in the bathroom for a half-hour in the morning and again at night.”

“No,” the doctor said, “I mean do you take anything?”

“Naturally,” she answered, “I take a book.”

best of times

The best of times : A narrative about what life in The United States was in our golden era, and how it became what it is, and offering solutions to enable us to once again travel the path to freedom and self reliance.

What do the Extraterrestral Look Like

When one begins to research life in other realms, the first question anyone asks is ,”What do they look like?”

The reply can and often is varied, some report they are grey, some say they resemble animals, some resemble little green men and some report they don’t remember what any of them looked like.

In the final analysis , it doesn’t matter what they look like, they only thing that makes a difference is what they say and communicate to us.

In my own experience, I have never seen them, I have only felt their presence and heard their messages, some times it rings true only years later. The one and only time I remember seeing them ,I thought they looked like they had a head that resembled a horse, but after a wile I was able to determine they only looked that way  because there was a time warp and because of it, their image was distorted and they only looked like a horse head.

The difference between earth time and time in their dimension distorted everything I saw, so it made them look like I had taken a time exposure with a camera and something moved.

It has been repeated to me many times, it really doesn’t matter who they are or what they look like , it matters not who speaks truth , the only thing that matters is the messages, if it rings true to you deep in your soul, it is truth.

modern walk

A Modern day walkabout

Working for a Union

When I first graduated from school and was seeking gainful employment, there were many decisions to be made, decisions that would affect the rest of my life, as well as those around me.

As a result I tried several different occupations before I settled on a lifetime career. I worked in a corporate office for a while, but that soon bored me, so I went to a different company and worked on a factory production line. It didn’t take long before I realized that life wasn’t for me either. Longing to be outside more and not wanting to work the graveyard shift for the rest of my life, I soon realized that the part of my day I enjoyed the most was diving back and forth to work.

Thus it became obvious I should seek a job where I would be driving most of the day.

It seems that once one puts his mind to something, it doesn’t take long for the opportunity to present itself. I had a driving job with an excellent company within just a couple of months. I would be working at one of the finest companies in the country, the wages and benefits were the best one could find anywhere.

The only glitch was, I had to join a union.

This came right after a period of time when the area I lived in experienced some of the worst activity a union could ever perform, people were assaulted by union thugs, some even had dynamite thrown into their house or were shot at. Members of my own family  personally experienced some of this firsthand.

I had many reservations about joining a union, and it caused me much concern. Not only did I not approve of their activities, I didn’t want to be involved in anything like that in the future.

After much meditation, I finally decided there was no perfect job, if I wanted to do what I liked, I would have to deal with the adversity. I would make it work to my advantage, not participate in the negativity , and make it work out for the best for myself and family.

If there ever was a strike  there would be no way I would participate in the violence, I would distance my self as far away as possible. It really doesn’t matter what we do in life, or who we work for , or associate with, there are events and circumstances we can’t support or go along with, the world isn’t black and white, there are many shades of gray.

It all worked ut for the best, I learned how to deal with my own issues without involving big brother union , I soon found they were most interested in helping those who should be terminated, they weren’t concerned about me for various obvious reasons,it makes for better press to help people who portray themselves as victims.

All in all, I learned what everyone should learn, you are better off solving your own problems rather then turning them over to someone else. There isn’t anyone who has an interest in your concerns and welfare more than you do.

As with everything in life, the rewards were great, but there are sacrifices, and either way , if you are working for yourself or for someone, you have to look after your own interests.

Key To Staying Healthy

You’re in incredible shape,” the doctor said. “How old are you again?”

“I am 78.” The man said. “78?” asked the doctor. “How do you stay so
healthy? You look like a 60 year old.”

“Well, my wife and I made a pact when we got married
that whenever she got mad she would go into the kitchen and cool
off and I would go outside to settle down.” the man explained.

“What does that have to do with it?” asked the doctor.

“I’ve pretty much lived an outdoor life.”

The Wisdom of our Ancestors

Still Crazy

Jim and Mary were both patients in a Mental Hospital.
One day while they were walking past the hospital
swimming pool, Jim suddenly jumped into the deep end.
He sunk to the bottom and stayed there. Mary promptly
jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom and pulled
Jim out.

When the medical director became aware of Mary’s heroic
act, he immediately ordered her to be discharged from the
hospital, as he now considered her to be mentally stable.

When he went to tell Mary the news, he said, “Mary, I have
good news and bad news. The good news is you’re being
discharged because – since you were able to jump in and
save the life of another patient, I think you’ve regained your
senses. The bad news is Jim, the patient you saved, hung
himself with his bathrobe belt in the bathroom. I am so sorry,
but he’s dead.”

Mary replied, “He didn’t hang himself, I put him there to dry”
