You Control Your Destiny

In these changing times, people need to realize each one of us is in
control of our individual life. Over the past several decades many have
turned control of their destiny over to either the government, big
business or a union.

Many times this has seemed to make good economic sense, much has been
provided to us by working for a large company or the government and
having all our economic needs satisfied with little conscious thought on
our part.

The downside is this has created a sense of entitlement where people begin
to think they deserve everything in life just because they exist. People
believe that work isn’t necessary and effort doesn’t need to be put
forth to gain the fruits of our labor.

In most states it is illegal to feed wild animals because by doing so the
animal becomes dependent on humans and they forget how to fend for
themselves. When the human involvement ends, the animal thus can starve
to death. Many Americans have become like those wild animals, they have
become so dependent on others for their survival that when the gravy
trains ends they no longer know how to make it on their own.

We now blame government for all our problems, and rightfully so,
government has and always will fail us. We need to remember who voted
for these people and who put them into office. We can only blame
ourselves for the actions of congress and the president. Most often
people are elected based on how much “free stuff” they are going to hand
out once elected. The “stuff” isn’t free, someone is paying for it.

As a result of straying from our basic instincts,we  Americans have
become victims of our own success. We as a people need to take back our
power, we are the only ones who can successfully control our destiny and
give us the life we want, no one can do it for us.

As one travels through life, you can’t but help to realize you have
created your life by the decisions you have made. You are the author of
you life. You are a magnet, you attract the things , people, ideas, and
circumstances to you that resonate at the same vibrational rate as you
do.

Having said that, one needs to realize, however hard it may be, you are
responsible for everything you have experienced, either on a conscious
or subconscious level. Once one comes to terms with that reality, it
becomes apparent you have the ability to change your life.

Like attracts like, our “magnet” only attracts to us like thoughts and
actions, as we think we become, change your thinking and your life will
change. You don’t make this happen, you just let it happen. The magnet
doesn’t do anything, it just is.

We live in the greatest country ever know to man,(at least in this
millennium,)  we have all the tools necessary to create whatever life
we desire, based upon our abilities and ambitions. The only ingredient
missing is our realizing that each one is in control of their own  life,
we can shape it as we want, and it is up to no one but ourselves to
decide how we want to live.

Solitude: Sarasota Florida

Written by :Gary Wonning

Enjoying peaceful Sarasota Bay Florida, what better place to decide where to travel next on Florida’s suncoast?

Sarasota Florida

This quiet spot located near a busy restaurant on City Island Park in Sarasota Florida it is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Florida sunshine.

Sitting here , one is oblivious to all the activity going on around you. Located on a popular hiking path  where people come to just walk their dogs, lay out on the grass or just sit and contemplate  life, this park bench seldom wants for visitors.

A popular Tiki Bar is nearby to satisfy ones hunger and thirst should the need arise. Adjacent to a popular local tourist attraction  where charter fishing tours, afternoon and evening dinner cruises can be arranged as well as fine and relaxed dining , it would be hard to find a more ideal location to spend the afternoon enjoying the best life has to offer.

I’m sure while sitting on this bench, many people have decided to make Sarasota their permanent home.

The Nun's Kiss

The Nun’s Kiss

Yeah: you know you’re going to tell this one at a party this weekend!

A cabbie picks up a nun. She gets into the cab, and the cab driver
won’t stop staring at her. She asks him why is he staring and he
replies, “I have a question to ask you but I don’t want to offend you.”

She answers, “My dear son, you cannot offend me. When you’re as
old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to
see and hear just about everything. I’m sure that there’s nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive.”

“Well, I’ve always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me.”

She responds, “Well, let’s see what we can do about that: first, you have to be single and second, you must be Catholic.”

The cab driver is very excited and says, “Yes, I am single and I’m Catholic too!

“OK,” the nun says “Pull into the next alley.”

He does and the nun fulfills his fantasy with a kiss that would make a
hooker blush. But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts
crying.

“My dear child,” said the nun. “Why are you crying?”

“Forgive me sister, but I have sinned. I lied, I must confess, I’m married and I’m Jewish.”

“That’s OK,” the nun says. “My name is Kevin and I’m on my way to a Halloween party.”

Jewish Wisdom

A Jewish woman goes to see her Rabbi and asks, “Yankele and Yosele are both in love with me, who will be the lucky one?”

The wise old Rabbi answers: “Yankele will marry you. Yosele will be the lucky one.”

If a married Jewish man is walking alone in a park and expresses an opinion without anybody hearing him, is he still wrong?

My father says, “Marry a girl who has the same belief as the family.”

I said, “Dad, why would I marry a girl who thinks I’m a schmuck?”

Jewish Marriage advice “Don’t marry a beautiful person. They may leave you.

Of course, an ugly person may leave you too. But who cares?”

Morris went to his rabbi for some needed advice. “Rabbi, tell me is it proper for one man to profit from another man’s mistakes?”

“No Morris, a man should not profit from another’s man mistakes” answered the rabbi.

“Are you sure Rabbi?”

“Of course, I’m sure, in fact I’m positive” exclaimed the Rabbi.

“Ok, Rabbi, if you are so sure, how about returning the two hundred dollars I gave you for marrying me to my wife?”

The Italian says, “I’m tired and thirsty. I must have wine.”

The Frenchman says, “I’m tired and thirsty. I must have cognac.”

The Russian says, “I’m tired and thirsty. I must have vodka.”

The German says, “I’m tired and thirsty. I must have beer.”

The Mexican says, “I’m tired and thirsty. I must have tequila.”

The Jew says, “I’m tired and thirsty. I must have diabetes.”

Jewish proverb: “A Jewish wife will forgive and forget, but she’ll never forget what she forgave.”

A Jewish congregation in suburban Boston honors its Rabbi for 25 years of service by sending him to Hawaii for a week, all expenses paid. When he walks into his hotel room, he finds a beautiful nude woman lying on the bed.

She greets the Rabbi with, “Hi, Rabbi, I’m a little something extra that the President of the Temple arranged for you. The Rabbi is incensed. He picks up the phone, calls the President of the Temple and shouts, “Greenblatt, what were you thinking? Where is your respect? I am the moral leader of our religious community! I am very angry with you and you have not heard the end of this.”

Hearing this, the naked woman gets up and starts to get dressed.

The Rabbi turns to her and asks, “Where are you going? I’m not angry with YOU!”

church and state

There has been much debate over the years about what the founding fathers meant about the separation of church and state. In recent times there has been much disinformation about how they actually believed, especially George Washington. In this short Ebook the author tries to explain how they actually felt.

A Gift From the Other Side

your PARANORMAL superstore

One of the most influential events to take place during my quest for truth, my truth, occurred during the summer of 1982.  I was sitting in my living room reading when I noticed a  white plastic shopping bag lying on the fireplace mantle. I could have sworn the bag hadn’t been there a minute ago.

Curiosity got the best of me so I got up to see what it was all about. Opening the bag I found it contained a small book and a receipt from a Cincinnati book store. Investigating further it seemed to be  some sort of spiritual book. Now my curiosity was really raised,  I had developed a strong interest in that field and was at the time reading something I thought to be similar.

Sitting down to read it, I began to realize it had a different slant on the world and upon further investigation I realized the writer had a
negative view point on every subject,  Christianity, Mormonism, new age, Masonry or whatever, it didn’t seem to make a difference.

Having been a student of several of these topics, I was quite well informed and as I read further most of what he said was not only untrue, but in many times a downright lie. Reading the book gave me a sense of foreboding and I soon realized this book came from a source that was far from good.

Knowing  I hadn’t purchased this book, I asked my wife why she had bought it. Her reply was that she never bought it and had never seen it before. Since no one else lived in our house except our children who were too young to purchase anything, cold chills ran up and down my spine.

Although I had on occasion been privy to using an Ouija board and other esoteric tools, and had in fact seen much that was beyond explanation, this was creepy, It was totally against everything that is taught and accepted in our world, or any other world I want to be associated with.

I began to realize this book had been placed there by unknown forces to test my faith and to see if I really believed the things I had been studying. There was no question, what I had been reading was in fact truth, this book was nothing but false information and had no place in
my home or environment. The sooner it disappeared from my reality the
better.

Wanting to dispose of it as quickly as possible, I went into the backyard and lit a match to it.

Enlightenment

At this period of time in the history of man, there is probably more individual searching being done into the theories behind the origin of the human race, what happens after death, the possibility of life on other planets, and what our relationship is to these life forms, if they do exist. There are millions of people who are questioning the existence of God, who he really is, and what is my relationship with him? Is he someone who mysteriously floats around on a cloud watching and judging us from above like some bigger than life Santa Claus, or is he, like many of the esoteric science’s claim, a part of our inner Self, whom we have constant contact with, someone whom we and everything in the universe are connected and are thus one? Each of us in our own way is experiencing what God is, and thus we are each a part of God, thus we are God! This book is a brief account of my search for my own truth as I know it today, everything stated actually happened, according to my own perception. It has been an exciting search, at times very frustrating, very rewarding, and above all, very fulfilling. My main purpose in writing this book is to show that anyone, even a bashful unfamous country boy can have these awakenings, you don’t have to be rich or well-known to find your connection to Divine Source.

Available in both paperback and ebook format.

Support Your Wife

Support your Wife

It is important for men to remember that as women grow older it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping they did when they were younger.

When men notice this, they should try not to yell. Let me relate how I handle the situation.

When I retired four years ago, it became necessary for Gayle to get a full-time job both for extra income and for health insurance benefits that we need. She was a trained lab tech when we met thirty some years ago and was fortunate to land a job at the local medical center. It was shortly after she started working at this job that I noticed that she was beginning to show her age.

I usually get home from fishing or hunting about the same time she gets home from work. Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says that she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts supper. I try not to yell at her when this happens. Instead, I tell her to take her time. I understand that she is not as young as she used to be. I just tell her to wake me when she finally does get supper on the table.

She used to wash and dry the dishes as soon as we finished eating. It is now not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after supper. I do what I can by reminding her several times each evening that they aren’t cleaning themselves.

I know she appreciates this, as it does seem to help her get them done before she goes to bed.
Our washer and dryer are in the basement. When she was younger, Gayle used to be able to go up and down the stairs all day and not get tired. Now that she is older she seems to get tired so much more quickly.

Sometimes she says she just can’t make another trip down those steps. I don’t make a big issue of this. As long as she finishes up the laundry the next evening I am willing to overlook it.
Not only that, but unless I need something ironed to wear to the Monday’s lodge meeting or to Wednesday’s or Saturday’s poker club or to Tuesday’s or Thursday’s bowling or something like that, I will tell her to wait until the next evening to do the ironing.

This gives her a little more time to do some of those odds and ends things like shampooing the dog, vacuuming, or
dusting. Also, if I have had a really good day fishing,
this allows her to clean the fish at a more leisurely pace.

Gayle is starting to complain a little occasionally. Not often, mind you, but just enough for me to notice. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour.
In spite of her complaining, I continue
to try to offer
encouragement.

Art Prints

I tell her to stretch it out over two or even three days. That way she won’t have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn’t hurt her any,
if you know what I mean.

When doing simple jobs she seems to think
she needs more rest periods than she used to have to take. A couple of weeks ago she said she had to take a break when she was only half finished mowing the yard. I overlook comments like these because I realize
it’s just age talking.

In fact, I try to not embarrass her when she needs these little extra rest breaks. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while.I tell her that as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me and take her break by the hammock so she can talk with me until I fall asleep. I could go on and on, but I think you know where I’m coming from.

I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Gayle on a daily basis. I’m not saying that the ability to show this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult.
Some will find it impossible. No one knows better than I do how frustrating women can become as they get older. My purpose in writing this is simply to suggest that you make the effort. I realize that achieving the exemplary level of showing consideration I have attained is out of reach for the average man.

However guys, even if you just yell at your wife a little less often because of this article, I will consider that writing it was worthwhile.

Note: This article was found next to the author’s body. The cause of death is still under investigation.

The Need for the Second Amendment

Photography Prints

Since the beginning of our country, the second amendment has continuously
been under fire. There are always going to be people who think the
private citizen shouldn’t have guns and be allowed to defend themselves.
As much as they are entitled to their own opinion, they are erroneous
in their thinking.

They believe a well regulated militia is something akin to our National
Guard, and this militia is the one chosen to protect us. Even though the
National Guard’s objective is to protect the citizenry, in the days of
our founding, every male citizen was a part of the militia and as a
result it was the private citizen who had the right to bear arms. Any
one thinks about it rationally realizes that living in a society where
only government employees have guns  would not be a good thing. This
thinking displays no distrust of our military, but shows a knowledge of
how thinking of this kind could lead to disaster.

Our
right to bear arms is one of our basic rights, it insures our freedom,
the first thing an oppressive government does is take away the arms of
it’s people, thereby rendering them defenseless. The government can then
do whatever it wants without fear of reprisal.

Even
under the most ideal circumstances , we really can’t depend on the
government for our personal protection. As well meaning and efficient as
the local law enforcement authorities may be , they simply can’t be
every place at the same time.

Suppose someone breaks into your house, in almost every case it is
going to take the law enforcement officers at least ten minutes to
arrive at your humble abode, what are you going to do in the mean time,
sit down and have tea and crumpets with your intruder?

This is something most people never think about and rightfully so, it is
something many  people don’t like to face. No one wants to confront a
criminal, it is much easier for some one else to do it for us. The
problem is , in most cases, there is no one else. If we don’t do it, no
one will, and people we know and love , including ourselves can wind up
hurt or killed.

This doesn’t sound like a very good option to me. Ask the career criminal
what they most fear, the number one fear is the homeowner having a
firearm, the second fear is a dog, and the third fear is they may call
the police.  Calling the police is way down the list as the criminal
knows that by the time the police arrive, the chances are pretty good ,
they will be long gone.

Many times the homeowner will have a small sign stating they have one of the
major security systems installed when they really don’t , all they have
is a sign. I think an even better sign would be stating ,”This property
insured by Smith and Wesson.” This would deter even more crime. Most
times the weapon never has to be used , most criminal are cowards, the
threat is more than enough to drive them away.
