Fire Academy Class

Fire Academy Class

True story, from the “S-133” class (Class title: “Look up, Look
Down, Look All Around” and yes, that’s the real name of the course) at
the Sacramento Mountains Wildfire Academy.

My buddy Norm, a veteran paramedic and firefighter, sends this report from his fire academy class:

Toward the end of the class today the instructor, a 35-year
veteran of the U.S. Forest Service as a hotshot and other wild land fire
suppression efforts, said, “I don’t know how you structural firefighters
do what you do. As a wild land firefighter I wouldn’t have the first
clue how to fight a structure fire.”

To which one of the volunteer structural firefighters responded, “We
don’t call you guys to help with a house fire because your first action
would be to start a backfire in the living room.”

It stopped the instructor in his tracks and brought the room down. It was almost two full minutes before we could resume class.

Strange Events in The Air Force

Sell Art Online

Sometimes events occur that are hard to explain using conventional wisdom. Several years ago while participating in basic training in the United State’s Air Force at Lackland Air force Base in San Antionio , Texas, one such event took place.
During the first or second week of my training,  my flight and myself were marched  to the infirmary to get our mandatory flu shot. Except for a sore arm,. all went well until about 3 am the next morning. Awaking with an extreme urge to find the latrine, for the next several minutes I found myself leaning over the commode worshiping the porcelain goddess.

Not only was I extremely ill, I became concerned, I was scheduled for KP in about an hour. KP meant I would be getting up about 4 am and working until probably 9 pm, how was this going to happen? If I claimed I was sick, no one would believe me, they would just think I was trying to get out of KP, I decided to fake it.

Marching in the cold Texas morning, doubt soon set in as if I would be able to pull this off, arriving at the chow Hall it was soon evident KP for me wasn’t going to happen that day. Fearing humiliation, court martial, and everything else I could think of, I reported my condition to the officer in charge. The anticipated cold stare and rebuke came and I was ordered to  sick bay.

Sensing some relief that I didn’t get flogged, I beat a hasty retreat out the chow hall and back into the cold air. At least when I get to sick bay, there would be an officer in charge that I didn’t know, he would probably give me a shot and send me to the hospital or back to the barracks.

Oh Great! It’s my Training Instructor on duty, the mean one. Here we go again! Gritting my teeth, I walked up, saluted , stated my delicate condition, another cold stare and the response, “ You have KP today, right?” I replied.”Yes Sir.” Another cold stare followed by, “It figures. go back to the barracks, I will deal with YOU later.”
Who would want to get well at this point in time? If I live through this I’ll worry about that later, all I want to do now is sleep.

Waking up about the time my fellow trainees returned from KP, I received the expected response from them also. Too sick to care what anybody thought, I rolled over and went back to sleep. Next morning at 4 am reveille, feeling weak but better, life returned to normal and it was forgotten about until a couple of days later.

Mail Call and a letter from mom, this wasn’t unusual as she normally wrote two or three times a week. I opened the letter and began to read, cold chills ran up and down my back. She immediately asked if I was OK, she went on to state she woke up at 3am on the morning I was sick and woke dad and told him I was very sick.

How did she know? I hadn’t written or talked to her, she had no way of knowing.

If you have  a similar story or comment, I would love to hear about it.

At this period of time in the history of man, there is probably more individual searching being done into the theories behind the origin of the human race, what happens after death, the possibility of life on other planets, and what our relationship is to these life forms, if they do exist. There are millions of people who are questioning the existence of God, who he really is, and what is my relationship with him? Is he someone who mysteriously floats around on a cloud watching and judging us from above like some bigger than life Santa Claus, or is he, like many of the esoteric sciences claim, a part of our inner Self, whom we have constant contact with, someone whom we and everything in the universe are connected and are thus one? Each of us in our own way is experiencing what God is, and thus we are each a part of God, thus we are God! This book is a brief account of my search for my own truth .

The Good Old Days

You often hear of people complaining about how hard times are and how hard it is to make ends meet. I agree that things could be better as far as the economy goes, however all one has to do is look back in time or to some other part of the world to realize that we probably don’t have it so bad.

I often think of the life my grand parents lived, a life I experienced as a child. A time when a lot of people never had
electricity or a telephone. It was a time when  all farm work  was  done with horses and good old blood sweat and tears.

I remember my Grandpa  walking behind a plow all day, then coming back to the barn, doing the chores until dark, and getting up at daylight to start it all over again. He only farmed 40 acres, but with having to do all the work by hand or behind a horse , that was more than enough to keep him busy . It would take all week to plow 10 acres. Then it was time to work the
ground to make it suitable for planting corn or soybeans. By the time the planting was complete , he could have easily put in 3 weeks or more of hard work.

Then it was time to do the summer work, combining wheat, cutting wood for the wood stove during the cold winter that lie ahead, and then doing the fall harvesting. I don’t ever remembering my grandparents taking a vacation.

It’s rather disheartening to hear people complain how hard  life is today.  They are living in paradise and don’t know it.

St. Lucia

St. Lucia

Your favorite CARIBBEAN store

One of the most picturesque islands in the Caribbean, St. Lucia has a long history. Their modern day history begins in either 1492 or 1502 when the Spanish first landed on the island. Life was hard during those times, sugar cane became the main product of St. Lucia and as a result many slaves, both Carib and African slaves as well, died not only from smallpox and measles, but also due to the extreme working conditions required to produce sugar cane.

The French and British as well continued to import slaves until people from Africa outnumbered those from Europe. The island continued to be much sought after by the two European powers until the British secured it in 1814when it became part of the British Windward Islands. Due to the fact it is a volcanic island , St. Lucia is more mountainous than most other Caribbean Islands.

The Pitons, located on the islands western side between Soufriere and Choiseul form the islands most famous landmark , while Mount Gimie is the highest point on the island at 3,120 feet. The island also boasts a drive-in volcano.

With the decline in sugar production, today the islands main source of income is tourism, followed by banana production and light manufacturing. Many internet businesses also have their home base in St. Lucia. As most visitors come to the island by way of cruise ship, must of the tourism is geared towards that end. Be sure to stop by the Bounty Distillery, where some of the Caribbean’s best rum is produced. they produce 21 different flavors of rum each better than the previous one.

There are many scenic and informative tours available, both by land and sea, more than enough to make your short stay enjoyable and making you want to return for a longer visit.

The Alligator and the Sore Tooth

A new guy in town walks into a bar and reads a
sign that hangs over the bar… FREE BEER! FREE BEER FOR THE PERSON
WHO CAN PASS THE TEST! So the guy asks the bartender what the test
is.

Bartender replies “Well, first you have to drink that whole
gallon of pepper tequila, the WHOLE thing at once and you can’t make
a face while doing it. Second, there’s a ‘gator out back with a sore
tooth…you have to remove it with your bare hands. Third, there’s a
woman up-stairs who’s never had an orgasm. You gotta make things right for her.” The guy says, “Well, as much as I would love free beer, I won’t do it. You have to be nuts to drink a gallon
of pepper tequila and then get crazier from there.

Well, as time goes on and the man drinks a few, he asks, “Wherez
zat teeqeelah?”

He grabs the gallon of tequilla with both hands, and downs it with a
big slurp and tears streaming down his face. Next, he staggers out
back and soon all the people inside hear the most frightening
roaring and thumping, then silence. The man staggers back into the
bar, his shirt ripped and big scratches all over his body.

“Now” he says “Where’s that woman with the sore
tooth?”

My main purpose in writing this book is to show that anyone, even a bashful unfamous country boy can have these awakenings, you don’t have to be rich or well-known to find your connection to Divine Source. I began taking notes for this book over thirty years ago, at the time, writing a book was the farthest thing from my mind. My only thought was to have a journal to read over when I got older. As a result, I didn’t  record some of my references, many of the references were from Aboriginal and Mayan elders themselves, many of which has been the victim of the ravages of time. Hence my book is short on references, but long on experience, I hope you understand.

Sirius B Puppy Star

YOUR FAVORITE ESOTERIC STORE

One of the wonders of the night sky, Sirius, better known as the blue star, or Dog Star shines brightly in the southern sky. Beginning in August the star begins rising in the east before sunrise and rises earlier each  night until eventually, it rises just after sunset.

This star has had an extreme importance in the history of man, the ancient Egyptians charted it’s rising to determine when the yearly August floods would return to the Nile River Valley. As such an important event  that it was they marked the beginning of their calendar year with the rising of Sirius.

Even today  our New Year’s Celebration coincides with the time when Sirius reaches the midpoint in the night time sky at midnight. At this point with Sirius directly over head , the energies of Sirius  most directly can exert their influence  towards us.Thus without knowing the reason why, we have jumped for joy for centuries at this moment in time.
However there is another star that plays perhaps an even more important role in our lives. It is Sirius B , and even though the ancient Egyptians and the Dogon tribe in western Africa knew of it’s existence thousands of years ago, it wasn’t until just a few years ago, with the invention of more powerful telescopes that modern man was able to  discover it.

Sirius B rotates around Sirius and spins rapidly, thus creating an extreme force of gravity. This little known star is the star system that the Dogon tribe believe civilization on earth originated.

According to their legends, beings came from this star system and others to  populate earth, returning again and again to assist and teach the new inhabitants of earth  the laws of nature and Nature’s God. As the pyramids of Giza, as well as the many stone edifices around the  world contain  symbols and signs  relating to the laws of nature and alignment of the stars, many as well believe the celestial visitors had a hand in the building of the pyramids and other monoliths.

There is no doubt we on earth have been visited many times in the past by extraterrestrials and will be so in the future. Who knows the Dogon may be right, they had to have gained knowledge of Sirius B from somewhere, they had no telescopes that we know of and the star is too small to be seen with the naked eye.

If You Can Feel It, You Can Receive It.

Everything in the universe, including our bodies is magnetic and as such has a magnetic frequency. This is true of even our thoughts and feelings, this is what attracts people and events to us. I always compare it to a radio, just as whatever kind of music a radio station plays, it attracts listeners to the station that are compatible to what is being projected out of the speaker. So it is with us humans and  animals as well, what ever thoughts and emotions we are projecting out bounces right back to us in the kind of events and people we are attracting to us.

That is why it is so important, especially when one is going through one of life’s challenges to remain positive. If we remain positive, we will attract those people and circumstances to us that will lessen the blow. We can not always avoid every so called negative experience in life .  Many lessons and growth possibilities arise from these times.

It is so important in these times to remain enthusiastic, I know it is not possible to be positive at all times, when those times come , remove yourself from life as much as possible  for a short time to allow yourself space to regroup. Keep thinking about a positive outcome and leave no doubt about it, especially to yourself. Soon you will be able to put on a happy face and resume the fight projecting an aura of positive frequencies that will attract to you the results you desire.

Life is all about choices, some we make consciously, and many that are made on a subconsciousness level. I believe we choose to participate in everything that comes our way, either consciously or subconsciously. We were all born with free will, and as such free will is a full time event. We simply cannot have free will to choose to have a hot fudge sundae or banana split and not have free will concerning other more important decisions in our life.

There are always many things in life that come our way we simply do not understand how we can endure  and most of us think we would never choose  for ourselves. However it is by enduring such times, and making decisions  on how to best deal with the issue is what determines our future and how we deal with the next crisis in our life.

Thus, if we can realize we are in charge of our life and realize we are responsible for everything in it, are we able to look to the challenges with enthusiasm by realizing they are an opportunity for us to grow and reach higher levels of understanding.
