Iraq: We Started Something

Iraq :We started something

Since the beginning of time, there has been dissension in the middle east. For thousands of years, the people in that part of the world have been fighting. it’s almost like it’s their job, get up in the morning, have a cup of coffee and go fight.

This time however, it may be different, because of the Internet and various other forms of communication, it is nearly impossible for a dictatorship to keep it’s subjects in the dark as far as what is happening in the rest of the world. In times past people like Saddam Hussein were able to control the information that not only flowed into the country. but out of it as well. This was no more evident than when the United States United States and it’s allies attacked Iraq, it was then we learned that over the years CNN was only telling us what Saddam wanted us to know. I think this was a grave injustice on the part of CNN. Because of this their credibility suffered and will never be the same.

Even though no WMDs were found, Saddam was an evil man who punished his people relentlessly. There were terrorist training camps discovered in Iraq, facilities to make WMDs and also he had used them on his people in the past.. Where they went , no one knows or they aren’t telling. The world is better off without him.

As the attacks continued, the whole world was kept up to date of what was happening, many in the  third world countries  for the first time, began to realize they could have a different way of life way of life. Viewing images from other countries, they began to get a small taste of what freedom would be like. Slowly they began to dream of a life they could have without a tyrannical dictator telling them every move they could make. No doubt things probably would not have come down as they did in Egypt without such sources as Face Book and others. Now other countries such as Tunisia and Libia have joined in. The middle east will never be the same. Once a soul tastes freedom freedom, there is no going back.

Although the fight is far from over, seeing the people in Iraq struggle gave the rest of the middle east a hope that they could one day be free also. Now ,although the final outcome is uncertain, there can be no doubt that eventually the middle east will be bathed in democracy. No longer can governments hide the truth.

What’s Wrong with This Country?

Tuesday’s  Daily paper, ran two articles on the front page side by side :

1- Calif’s 20 Billion Dollar Budget Deficit

2- The Calif Supreme Court ruling that ILLEGALS can attend college and get benefits

Why don’t they just deport them when they arrive to register !   ?

3- Last year they ran an article on the yearly costs to Calif Tax payers from Illegals
using Hospital Emergency Rooms for their general health care –

At just one hospital the cost to tax payers totaled over 25  million a year

Someone please tell me what the HELL’s wrong with
all the people that run this country !!!!!!

We’re “broke” & can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????

In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey . And now Pakistan …..home of bin Laden.  Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour
Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$’s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter,  children going to bed hungry, elderly going without ‘needed’ meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc.
They have a ‘Benefit’   for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave ‘US’ the same support they give to other countries.

Sad isn’t it?

America is in serious trouble, many no longer realize what values and principles our country is founded on and have strayed from the commonsense and creative thinking of our ancestors, how can we fix it?

Labor Unions: A Love /Hate Relationship

Are Unions Necessary?

In the United States, there has always been a love /hate relationship with labor unions. There is no doubt many people who owe a debt of gratitude to the unions because of the elevated standard of living that has been afforded to the common working man.
In their day, the unions were needed, and answered a need for reform in our factories and places of business. To this day there is still a need for the working person to have some one to air his grievances and represent him in not only matters of employment and benefits, but also in Washington as well. To be represented in the workplace without a union would be next to impossible.

However, having said that, due to the recent financial  problems being encountered, not only in business, but particularly in public sector jobs, it has become evident that maybe the unions have grown too powerful and in many cases, don’t have the best interests of not only their members, but the country at heart.

Just like many businesses and corporations, they have lost touch with what is important,  when the president of the teachers union makes a statement saying he will be interested in the best interest of the children only when they become union members, something is wrong.

We all appreciate our firemen and policemen, and the job they do, and most of them are valuable to our welfare and safety. However, there are many who retire at an early age with pensions approaching $100,000 a year. They are and should be respected, however, does that give them the right to a key to the national treasury? When the best paying jobs of a country are in the public sector, it can only spell trouble. A society simply can not sustain that sort of economy.

I myself am the beneficiary of a union pension. I am extremely grateful for the benefits I enjoy from being a member of a strong union. However, I am also grateful that my union didn’t carry it to extreme and they remembered who they were working for. As a result, the company I worked for, is still one of the strongest financially and well respected companies in the world.

The employees are well paid, and the benefits are some of the best available, however, the union recognized early on that it would take hard work from the employees to create a financial base so the company could honor their commitments in the long term.
Both the company and the union knew how far they could push and still maintain a healthy and productive work environment. Maybe that is what is needed more than any thing.

FEAR: False Evidence Appearing Real

When we approach fear face to face it is powerless.
If you believe you will fail, you will fail, if you believe you will succeed, you will succeed.

I  think the biggest and most important lesson we learn on earth is the lesson concerning fear. Fear is the supreme force that can hold us back from reaching our goals and dreams. There are only two forces in the universe, love, and fear. Often times they are referred to good and evil, God and the Devil

Every other feeling and emotion we have are just off shoots of these two. Although fear is a powerful force, love is more powerful, love conquers all. Fear is the supreme robber of time, how often are you handcuffed by fear?

How many times do you not do what you feel is right or in your best interest because of some hidden fear that something will go wrong or there is an imagined negative consequence. We always  fear the worst, even though in almost every case our biggest fears fail to materialize. Many times in this way we often try to personalize something that isn’t personal. Often times the thing that holds some one back is the feeling they don’t deserve better, that and the fear of succeeding are the two main causes of not achieving what we would like to do.

Life is like a yo-yo, what we throw out there, we get back. It is only when one begins to realize they are  a child of God and God would want us to be happy, it is then one begins to cast off the patterns of failure. When we begin to continuously think good positive thoughts , while releasing any negative thoughts and feelings we may have, it is then our live begins to improve. When we finally realize the power of thought and words, we no longer have any desire to think negatively, remember even a moment of negative thinking can bring on events in our life that we don’t want or need.

When you find yourself thinking about anything in your life you no longer want, change your perception immediately, begin imagining only what you want to happen in your life, but not necessarily the people you want.  Sometimes the people we think would make us the most happy have a different agenda than ours. When we think about what we want and become who we want to be, the people that would make us the most content in life suddenly appear.

At this period of time in the history of man, there is probably more individual searching being done into the theories behind the origin of the human race, what happens after death, the possibility of life on other planets, and what our relationship is to these life forms, if they do exist. There are millions of people who are questioning the existence of God, who he really is, and what is my relationship with him? Is he someone who mysteriously floats around on a cloud watching and judging us from above like some bigger than life Santa Claus, or is he, like many of the esoteric sciences claim, a part of our inner Self, whom we have constant contact with, someone whom we and everything in the universe are connected and are thus one? Each of us in our own way is experiencing what God is, and thus we are each a part of God, thus we are God! This book is a brief account of my search for my own truth as I know it today, everything stated actually happened, according to my own perception. It has been an exciting search, at times very frustrating, very rewarding, and above all, very fulfilling. My main purpose in writing this book is to show that anyone, even a bashful unfamous country boy can have these awakenings, you don’t have to be rich or well-known to find your connection to Divine Source.

The Tailgater

The Tailgater

A man was being tailgated by a stressed-out woman on a busy
boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He
did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could
have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman hit the roof — and the horn — and screamed
in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection
on his tail.

She was still in mid-rant when she heard a tap on her window and
looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer
ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police
station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and placed
in a cell.

After a couple of hours, a jailer approached the cell and opened the
door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting
officer was waiting with her personal effects.

“I’m very sorry for the mistake,” he tells her. “You see, I pulled up
behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping the guy off
in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him.

“I noticed the ‘Choose Life’ license plate holder, the ‘What Would
Jesus Do?’ bumper sticker, the ‘Follow Me to Sunday School’ bumper
sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk. So
naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car.”

Wisdom from days gone .

Amazing Home Remedies

Amazing Simple Home Remedies

These really work! I checked these out on Snopes and they’re all for real!

Amazing Simple Home Remedies

1. Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold the vegetables while you chop.

2. Avoid arguments with the women in your house about closing the toilet seat by peeing in the sink instead.

3. For high blood pressure sufferers: every few days, simply cut
yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure on your
veins without the high cost of drugs. Remember to use a timer.

4. A mouse trap placed on top of your alarm clock will prevent you
from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze

5. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives — you’ll be afraid to cough.

6. You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and duct tape. If it
doesn’t move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn’t move and does,
use the duct tape.

7. If you can’t fix it with a hammer, you’ve got an electrical problem.

Self Esteem, Feeling Valued

Like attracts Like

We all, at different times have a challenge with feelings of inadequacy. It is only human to at times feel as though the whole world is picking on us and that what we say or do has no meaning or value. These feelings are only a natural part of life. Often times they are  brought on in times of extreme stress or periods of self doubt. After self exploration and an inner search for the God within, the feelings disappear and we return to our normal state of mind in which we realize that our thoughts and actions are important in the general scheme of things.

Feeling valued is very important, if every one felt their life had value and meant something, violence, crime and all the other negative aspects of life on earth would be practically non-existent. Feeling valued as an individual is all about the person who feels neglected rather than any one else. You can’t blame these feelings on some one else. As with all other situations in life , we attract to us the people and events that solidify our own thoughts and feelings. When feeling thoughts of inadequacy, we only attract what will reinforce those feelings. We become a giant magnet that draws from the universe every thing that will give us what we want.

It is an unwritten law of the universe, “Like attracts Like”. While there is some truth in the axiom “Opposites attract”, the main force in life besides love is the attraction of like . Even love is influenced by this, You cannot love someone or something if on some level you don’t like them or it.

if there is one thing I’ve become aware of in this life is that thoughts create reality, and even though I believe some events in life are predestined, it is our thoughts in life that create our reality.  Even our so called pre-destiny has a root in our preexistence when certain thoughts were entertained and these thoughts in turn created our future life.

Even the events we may have agreed to in our preexistence  were created for a reason and often times the so called negative aspects of our life turn out to be some of the best experiences we could ever imagine.Just like the opening phrase in the bible, ” In the beginning was the word, and the word was God” so the thoughts and words we utter create our individual world as we know it. Make the best of life and learn from it.
