2012: Armageddon

2012 : Armageddon

Much has been said and written about December 21,2012. You hear a lot of chatter about it being the end of the world.

Due to the fact the Mayan, Hopi, Cherokee, Hindu, and other calenders end on or  near to this day, only adds to the controversy. Will Armageddon actually occur on this day, will the world end as we know it and no longer exist in our solar system?

There has been talk of a giant asteroid striking the earth and creating a fate similar as to when the dinosaurs became extinct. Others have said there will be a polar shift, thereby creating a whole new climate for every continent on earth. Others have said , due to a shift in the moral and ethical character of many people today, there will be a shift in how we think and act , making for a more liberal society in which the values of hard work and individual responsibility no longer matter.

Although all the above options have occurred in the past and could and probably will happen again sometime in the future , the most obvious circumstance would appear to be the last one. As a people , our values have changed, so many people feel they are entitled to everything  it previously took individuals a lifetime to accumulate, and they want it now. Working hard and actually earning a reward has been something no longer believed worthy.

As humans we are entitled to a happy and prosperous life, however it is up to us the individual to work for and earn that lifestyle, it isn’t something someone else gives us , or have it given to us off the backs of someone else.

As always, there is more than one path for the human race to follow. We can keep going down the path of self destruction and continue to blame some one else for all our problems. We can continue to look outside ourselves for answers to what troubles us, we can continue to look to government to solve all our problems. Most of the world has taken this approach, and it is pretty obvious from the results, this approach doesn’t work and has many unintended consequences .
The other option is to wake up and realize this is madness must not continue, people who work and contribute to society can not continue to support those who demand a free ride with all the comforts of royalty while putting forth no effort of their own. We must look inward to find solutions to our personal situations.

People need to realize they are responsible for their own actions and actions have consequences, what we sow, we reap.

Even though all of the above scenarios are possible, I believe December 21,2012 will bring a new awareness among most individuals.
The change in consciousness will be a gradual event, it doesn’t happen with the blink of an eye. However it may seem like it when we are on the other side of this. There are signs things are and have been going in that direction for a while now. People are beginning to speak up and state the obvious. Many individuals are starting to remember the values and morals their ancestors taught them. The things grandpa told us no longer seem old fashioned and out of date.

The coming years will bring an era of new awareness and understanding, creating a better environment to advance the growth of the human soul. The soul doesn’t do well in a suppressed society, it requires freedom and the ability to prosper from it’s creations, a financial pat on it’s back if you would, money isn’t everything, but it is important. Financial rewards are societies way of saying “thank you”.

The last several years have paved the way for a new way of life , things have gotten so bad, it has caused many people to finally realize there has to be a return to the values and principles that made not only America great, but the people as well.

In this way it will be an Armageddon for an old way of thinking and a pathway to new knowledge and understanding.

  1. Armageddon? Smarmageddon! Baloney! Sometimes I wish there was a bunch of catastrophes that toppled all the major cities of the world, throwing us into a time when everyone had to struggle to survive but figured out they had to do it together. Taking us away from missiles and telecommunication, causing us to rely on each other and establishing a common sense list of priorities: Food, water, clothing, sanitation.

  2. regretfully, the only thing that will bring a lot of people back to what is important in life, is hard times. From what i understand, the 1920s were pretty foot loose and fancy free, the depression sobered them up.
It would be nice if people would learn that we don’t have to go through hard times to learn the important lessons in life.
