Aborigine Tracker in the Outback

While attending a Coroboree, or songfest in  the Daintree Rainforest, I had to opportunity to meet George pictured here behind a group of aboriginal youth. George is one of the last of a rare breed of individuals known as  trackers. According to ancient aborigine beliefs , any person ,or animal leaves an image of themselves as they move about. These aborigine trackers can see that image and as a result can track someone who is lost or has disappeared. They can track across solid rock as well as through mud and dirt
.
 A few months earlier, a young girl had gotten lost in the Australian out back. Dogs,police,and helicopters were employed in the search for the lost girl, to no avail. George was called in and in less than a half an hour he came walking out of the bush with the little girl in his arms.

As a result of the Aborigines becoming "modernized", this art is dying out. George is one of the last remaining Aborigines that has the ability to track over any kind of terrain and in any kind of weather.
