Egypt: Giza , Riding a Camel at Cheops Pyramid
Riding a Camel in front of The Cheops Pyramid
Take a Camel Ride in Giza
We had been out visiting various site in Cairo, after partaking of a light lunch in the Mena House which overlooks the giant pyramid of Khufu , it was time to visit the most famous of all Egyptian landmarks. As luck would have it, the crowds were large and we would have to visit some another day. As there was a little time to kill, a camel ride seemed in order. The price was right, only $5 dollars. The driver seemed nice enough and a short ride was enjoyed around the complex. The camels are quite high above the ground and the only way off is to have the camel squat. It was then I realized the five dollars was a mounting charge, the disembarking charge was also five dollars. I think this guy used to be a snake oil salesman.
