Greeting the rising sun on New Year's Eve, high on a plateau above Cairo , Egypt , the three majestic pyramids of ancient Egypt dominate the local landscape. Here since time immemorial the pyramids of Giza have created much controversy and speculation as to who built them and when they were built. These three pyramids, Khufu,Khafre and Menkaure, combined with the sphinx are probably the most recognizable landmarks in the world.Gary is a travel writer and photographer living in Sarasota,Florida.
