Carnival Triumph Tendered at Half Moon Cay

Situated southeast of Nassau Bahamas, Half Moon Cay is a private island that was purchased by Holland America Lines in 1977. 45 acres of the 2400 acre island has been developed as a stopover for cruise ships.

Featured is horseback riding, jet skiing, snorkeling, and just plain relaxing.

An on site lunch and bar service is also available from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, with food being brought over from the ship and prepared in the picnic area.

The island being a former refuge for pirates in now a significant resting area for waterfowl.

The island was named after Henry Hudson's ship, the "Half Moon", as an Englishman , he was employed by the Dutch .
Ten years before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock and on his third voyage to America, he sailed up the Hudson River in his ship the "Half Moon" and claimed the area for Holland.
