Then and now

I remember traveling to Egypt after Christmas of 1986. It was a fascinating trip, one of the things that stood out at the time was the fact that we weren't allowed to take photos of bridges and airports, the military would actually approach us and threaten to confiscate out cameras.

I remember thinking at the time how lucky we were in the United States to not have that threat and that we could travel anywhere or photo anything we wanted to.

Little did I know that a short 15 years later we would be having the same safeguards implemented here in the U.S.

What a difference a few years and a few extremists make.
