Latin America
I find it interesting that during President Bush's trip to Latin America, one of the main focal points, from the foreign leaders that he has met with, has been our treatment of illegal immigrants.
We are only trying to protect our borders by the feeble attempt we make to restrict illegal immigration.
Why aren't these leaders trying to make their own country a better world to live in? It looks more logical for them to focus on improving their own lot than to export their problems to us.
I would love to visit some of these countries, if they weren't so crime and drug infested.
To me it would be humiliating if I was the leader of a country and everybody wanted out leave.
The next questions that follows normally is ,"What are you going to give us?"
Sorry to say , but our generosity and willingness to help others has created a welfare mentality, they expect us to bail them out of every problem that comes along.
No doubt we have a better life than most of the people living in these countries, but a lot of people fought and died to make this a better country, and to keep us free. Most of these countries have as many or more natural resources than we do, but because of the type of government and the mind set of the people they remain poor.
What is wrong with using our time to find a solution to a problem instead of wasting time looking for someone to blame?
People need to realize that in most instances, all that needs to be done to find the cause of a personal problem, is to look in a mirror. Sometimes the reflection will knock your hat off!!
